This is a brilliant idea... I only wish it didn't have 'exploit' written all over it, or I'd be queueing for a dungeon right now...I don't know if this has been posted since I didn't read the entire thread but you could:
Step 1: Log on character A and log out inside of an instance (it will appear as online and inside the instance even after you log out)
Step 2: Log on character B and send character A a friend invite.
Step 3: Log on character A and accept the invite
Congratulations you can now mail things to your alts.

Doesn't work. You get the message about your character still being currently logged in. Also I think the person you mail to has to on your friendlist and online.I don't know if this has been posted since I didn't read the entire thread but you could:
