Password reset is really messed up

And yes, I've been thinking about just installing the android authenticator, but after reading reviews on how bug-ridden it is, resetting on a whim and then completely locking you out of your account... I think I'll pass for the time being.

I would attempt the authenticator. I don't exactly understand why some people have said it will lock you out of your account. I've never heard of the iOS version doing this. Regardless, you are given a emergency removal code when you are sign up. Take a screenshot of it, or save the page to disk so in case something does go wrong, you can regain access to your account.
