Couldn't agree any more if I tried.Frankly, by and large I don't really like most of the people I meet on the server anymore, so much arrogance, so much venom. Nope, no thanks, I no longer recruit openly. I stay to play with the guys in my company. The idea of forming some type of server unity has sailed off into the distance for me and I kinda doubt that's gonna change. Now you wanna say, oh why isn't anyone reaching out to form bonds with the community? I say, piss off, I don't care about that anymore, as far as I'm concerned the people of famfrit had spoken and they chose to be fragmented.
I felt the exact same way at the time, and evidently more people did as well.
For what it's worth, I've had nothing but positive results in any server-based grouping I've done ... and that's as a tank taking on content for the first time. Now are they being nice because I'm a tank and they don't want to queue and wait? I don't know, and quite simply, I don't care. The bottom line is, the reasons don't matter, they're being nice and that makes me all the more willing to group again etc. In this MMO day and age, the patient are few and far between and most want people with gear and experience in fights that they need to do in order to get that gear and experience. So far, people have been better than I expected.
I'm not saying Famfrit doesn't have its fair share of asshats, every server does. However there are also numerous people willing and able to break that misconception, if given the chance.
Furthermore, maybe now that a ton of FC's have had leadership changes and others have bolted for other servers etc ... perhaps now is the time to give it another shot. After all, those happy in their cocoons have nothing to lose. It's clear that 2.1 will bring changes that many dislike and will not bring content that others will "require" lest they become bored and move on. Likewise. 90 day subs will be coming due around that time as well. We're about 30 days out from another population change for better or worse.
Not sure if kidding or serious. Anyways, I agree with not entirely giving up but I don't have to sugar coat. After all, I am helping sponsor the seasonal events by donating the philo for the crafted items. So forgive me for being abrasive but emo and leadership don't mix. I call 'em like I see 'em.
