No to cowl in end-game! ranting lalafell inside!

Lots of people seem to have an issue with this. They can't remove the cowl now, but I guess they'll introduce the option to have the hood down at some point.

They won't.

They mentioned that this would require two separate 3D models for each hood which is a waste of memory and development time for something negligible, where-in the case of the /visor for the WAR Helmet and SCH glasses, its much simpler obviously.

In the case of the White Mage AF for example they'd have to go back and probably start the process over again just to make a hood for the second model as the graphics have already been finalized for it, to go back now would be a huge waste of time.


I'd rather have them focus on making new gear rather than worrying about adding a hood option for things they've already made.

Of course they'll introduce new gear in the future, but that still leaves the same problem (and I use that term quite loosely) for anyone coming into the game later reaching DL level. I didn't know they had already said no, but I think they will eventually find some sort of solution to it.

The only solution would be to go back and edit/create a zbrush model that has two states an 'Up' and 'Down' hood.
This would be two 3D models, so they' have to back-track and actually remake them again, including re-texturing, re-topologizing, rigging, skinning and weighting and then sizing for each race i'd assume too.

It's a lot of work just because people want to put the hood down when we'll be replacing it with new gear in the next few months anyway.

As it's pretty much the only cowls we use in the game bar level 20(ish), I think its perfectly acceptable to deal with, we can't have everything we want.
