First lvl 50 shield?

Hi, I'm sorry if this is addressed somewhere but I could not find it. My good friend is a tank and using a lvl 48 shield and we cant seem to fin a better one. Where isthe first 50 shield dropped/crafted from and any other ones we should try to get? Thank you for your time.

The white lvl 48 kite shield you can buy off the market is good enough till you get your relic honestly. The Scorpion shield will also last you till your relic, I forget which dungeon that drops in, it can also be purchased on the market. But if you want, you can get the Darklight Shield from the Tonberry King in WP.

Scorpion Shield drops from Dzemael Darkhold. I used it till I got my Relic.

But with the amount of people running WP now, it might be a good idea to run that for your tomes, and the Darklight Kite Shield, which is heaps better than the Scorpion Shield.

I used the shield from Aurume Vale (i49) until relic. Naturally I've seen the WP drop 100% of the time since getting the relic, lol.

Really though the white shield mentioned prior is enough.

Bladed Lantern Shield, HQ version. best shield you'll get until titan/relic. Kite shield have high damage reduction but super low block chance. Where as the lantern shield has super high block chance but not as much damage blocked. but overall you will be blocking more often,therefore blocking more damage than with a kite shield.

While a high block rate looks attractive its less desirable than higher block strength. We get a CD that increases our block % dramatically, you get far more mileage out of that CD with a higher block str. In any situation where you need to mitigate enough to require consideration that CD will more than make up for a VERY slight difference in block consistency everywhere else.

Regardless, spending gil on a crafted shield isn't a good idea. Its just not necessary.

I've done WP nearly 50 times trying to get the shield, won't drop for me.

Will be doing titan this week, have no doubt the moment I get my relic the darklight shield will start dropping constantly.
