    Tomes from all dungeons

    Why don't they just make it so 50's can get tomes from every dungeon in the game? It would open up thetome grind more and make it less monotonous. They could scale it according to the average time required to beat the dungeon, kind of like the WP to AK ratio. It would also incentivise 50's into helping lowbies out with certain bosses.

    If they implemented a Random Dungeon system where it gave you tomes from whatever dungeon you get placed in, it could work.

    But if they just buff dungeons, people will just farm whatever the fastest one is.

    Actually, I don't mind this. Hell, even if lower level dungeons give you fewer tomes.

    Why?

    Because there's a whole class of new player out there who're still working their way through the story. This at least gives some incentive/reward for higher level players to 'step back' and help out newcomers or their friends in getting through earlier dungeons in the game. One of the biggest issues often stated with dungeons, especially if you're a DPS, is huge queue times and incompetent groups; the answer to these is always "make friends and queue up with them", but even if you ask your FC who might all be on at a given moment to help you with a lower-level dungeon, chances are they're all not interested because they're all off doing more relevant content to them personally.

    I think giving tomes for the lower dungeons once you've completed the storyline is a good idea, as long as the rewards are reduced. This means that people may be more likely to do the story dungeons on alt classes for the philo rewards as opposed to just FATE grinding, reducing the waiting time for those that need the dungeon.

    Two problems with this, The 50s are going to premake groups and then run through whatever dungeon, which would do nothing to help the low level players working through the story. The other problem is these lower dungeons limit which abilities you have available to yourself. It would do very little to help new 50s to learn to play their classes at level 50.
    Other options would be to ensure characters only get tomes from solo queing which would place them with lower level players. It would also shutdown the possibility of speed runs since they will be placed with inexperienced players... But then players would be more likely to just run 50 dungeons for faster tomes.
    Increasing dungeon XP however would encourage players to actually que dungeons as opposed to fate grind for their alternate jobs.

    I like the idea - I worry about the consequences.

    CM was a horribly experience as part of my storyline because it was rushed and i was continuesly left behind for watching the cutscenes.
    And a post just 2 above this in the dungeons thread (as of writing) is talking about the attitude of lvl 50 players - which I can recognize in the community right now.

    So while it may provide some help to these storyline players, and incentives to assist your friends in the lower level dungeons (something the word "friends" should be enough incentive to imho) - I worry that lots more will end up with a bad experience because 3x DF 50'ies are yelling at you for not understanding the mechanics of speedrunning past half the trash.

    If community gets fixed - hopefully something like this is more viable.

    What they need to do is give a bonus 100% bonus to whatever dungeon run every hour or two. That way you're encouraged to do different dungeons for the bonus reward.

    They are already implementing this. If you watched the last live letter, it was said pretty clearly that there will be rewards for high leveled players to run lower leveled content in terms of philosophy stones and mythology stones, as well as hard modes of the dungeons which will all give stones of some kind.
