using world transfer for a name change

hey square enix, is there a CD period between world transfers if i wanted to use it just to change my name by taking it on another server, renaming, and then paying to come back?

is there any grace period between them? is there a problem with doing this?

It was a 3 day cooldown during the free transfer period. However they are looking into adding a name change service in the future.

There will not be a name change service tonight when they add server transfers again, that will come later as they have said. Beyond that are you really willing to spend $50 to change your name and come back to your home server? because that's how much transfers cost each time you move, $25.

Your name isn't even terrible so idk why you are even willing to spend that amount in the first place, unless ofcourse you did something on your server and you're hoping a name change will cover up what you did(there's always people that figure out even if names have changed).

if u want a name change via the server transfer and server transfer back best to make sure server u are transfering to has a char of that name on it. so that way u can change the name. even if u need to make a char there to save the name so it allows u to change it. but yeah theres a 3 day cd to server transfers

it's a legacy character, i wanna restart under a new moniker without losing the work ive already put into it

I thought the deal was the only way you change your name is IF the person has the same name as you in that server you picked.
Otherwise, you keep the name anyways.
