Not that the foodsystem is perfect, but it worked somehow. But 1.19 will set static attributes and this makes the current foodsystem obsolete.

Why hasnt SE said anything about Culinarians and food recipes regarding 1.19. I m going to predict a totally broken job, that is proabably not even able to hit R50 in the future because some mats will vanish at 1.20. Broken leves too.

I'm just reminding the developers here. If u create materia crafting do it for all jobs and dont skip culinarian and alchemist. Btw the later job could even craft weapons in the past. I guess the alchemist is nerfed down to just extract some crystals out of fish. Even the "colorsystem/dye" is out of the alchemist job now. What do you think, the alchemist is good for in the future.

I think the entire materia system and simplification act should be revised or hold back for another few patches. Not everyone is lucky with loosing HQ system at it is. We loosing even the last fun of crafting, e.g. finding out what HQ2/3 of materials could bring us and getting an +3 item is an accomplishment, every crafter wants to have done. If a raw gemstone can only be made to one kind of gem and if we loose all varieties of HQ1 to 3, we get the most boring system of all.
Crafting had always a form of investigating and exploration of all variants of recipes.
The coming system is just for getting an item. We know, we can get the item, we know we can get NQ and HQ version. That's it. And we can trigger HQ to 100%. Attaching some random materia on items, that are beyond crafting, should hold these jobs alive, so the developers think.
I tell you, that this is not the way a crafter wants to have the game and it's not all about the economy. If the developers favour just the moneymakers and gilionairs, this game is done for. But sadly they do again, although FFXIV was made by the assumption to stop RMT and make crafting possible for all players. They explicitly said, that it will be much more difficult to get your materials. It is bad enough nowadays to get some items if you are not a 24/7 player. After the leves are nerfed gilwise, only those with alot of time could compensate the lost of the gil income, by farming or monopolize items.
The materia system will bring back RMT for sure, because the variety for HQ items is gone, so is the difficulty of the craft itself. The difficulty is now to get the materials instead of crafting: In other words, it's now a trading game = RMT game. You can do everything with gil now.
