As I am almost full on items with both retainers, in later patches will we have more than 2 retainers?

Well the plan on 1.0 was to get additional retainers with a real life fee. I don't know if they still plan to do it, but I won't be surprised to see it on the cash sho... *cough* I mean "Mog Station" sooner or later...
That will be insane.
If this game tries to slip cash shop on here, say bye to everyone. We should at least have 3 Retainrs in all.
So like
- 1 for Ul'dah.
- 1 for Gridania.
- 1 for Limsa.
Technically if they do implement a "cash shop" it won't lose everyone, just like when SE "made" us buy Authenticators for XI for the Mog Sack they didn't lose everyone - Cash Shops are pretty standard in all MMOs (even GW2) in some form.
We were going to eventually level our retainers and buy new ones in 1.x but that plan seems to be no more.
I hear ya. From gathering items to use for crafting, my gear as well as misc things, my retainers and inventory are at their max. And unfortunately I am stuck selling things I wanted to hold on to for future crafting ingredients. I know housing is still up in the air with what you can actually have furniture wise, but maybe depending on how affordable and convenient it is there will be pieces you can craft/buy to hold more items. Assuming housing is even affordable.
Yes, storage is a huge problem given how crafting works in this game. But unfortunately we can expect no relief from housing. Coming with 2.1 is FC housing only and it will not include storage. Yoshi has stated not to expect any additional storage in future housing content, though he did not totally close that door.I hear ya. solution: stop hoarding stuff, sell efectively
"stop hoarding stuff": Try to keep only what you need right now; don't keep everything you might need someday
"sell efectively [sic]": Sell anything you're not using immediately. Pay attention to the market listings and history to list at a good price. Sell in small batches and not 99 all at once.
I hope this clears up what the parent poster was saying.
