    Newbie with Questions

Hi there, I joined a couple days ago and I am having a bit of a problem with two things.

    1) I just reached level 19, completed the rank 2 bestiary, and now I only have the quest for Tam-Tara. I have been in the waiting queue for the dungeon for 70mins now, with no tank or healer in sight. What I have troubles with is the fact that I do not have any other quests anymore but this one, how do I get more quests? How do I level to 20 in the meantime?

    2) Where do I turn in the two envelopes for armor I got from the veteran bonus?

Edit: 3) I am playing a lancer, I have found information on putting attribute points onto strength and vit, but cannot for the life of me find a good ratio. If anyone could give me pointers i'd much appreciate it!

    4) How can I make the duty list to pop on zoning?

    Hello,

I will try to answer what I can for you,

First, the fact you are waiting so long on the duty finder is because you are a DPS, 70 mins. is rather long, but you can expect to wait 30 mins. on average when you Q as a DPS. If you are looking to reduce waiting times Q up with a healer or tank friend.

The armor envelopes I am not sure about, I think you mean your mailbox maybe? If that's the case you need to go to New Gridania, or any major city and look for a letter icon, this is your mailbox.

As for attribute points, for lancer they are best placed in STR. I've heard people talk about VIT being important at endgame though so maybe it is a good idea to feed both, not sure there.

If you wish to level w out dungeons, there are FATES, and also levequests, FATES are the blue circles you see on your map, and levequests are received from various places and are marked with a [!] icon.

    Hope that helps you somewhat.

    1) As Talion said dungeon queues are frustrating for dps without a tank/healer to queue with. To get 20 you would have to do FATEs and levequests or you could attempt at moving around the world on foot to find level appropriate quests.
    2) You need to keep hold of them for now. Once you hit the 40s you can make a run for Mor Dhona, here there is an NPC that you trade them over to.
    3) I'm not sure on the optimal allocation of attributes, if there even is an optimal set-up. My classes have all points into main stat, so my Lancer is getting all Strength.
    4) Not sure you can get it to automatically pop on zone change but once in the Duty Finder it's added to the top of your quest log, you can click that every time you zone to check status.

1 - Quests in the areas. Normally you get sent from one hub to another, but that might not always be the case. Drybone is high-teens, so you might want to start there if you haven't already. I can't remember off the top of my head for Gridania or Limsa, might be Quarrymill for Grid.

2 - Mor Dhona, you'll get there story-wise after 40. You'll look for the tent everyone is gathered around, this's where you'll also exchange for Darklight and Mythic armor when you get Allagan Tomes once you hit 50. The person on the left is the one that does Swimsuit Exchanges, as well as Odin/Behemoth exchanges when/if you get the drops from the FATE mobs.

3 - Career DRG, I dumped directly into STR and only. I haven't bothered with any other experimenting myself.

4 - Duty Finder I don't think there is a way, but if you look in System... I think it was Character Settings, one of the menus should have a 'Recommendations on entering area' and click that. The Recommendations is for things like Quests, at-level Dungeons, Hunting Log mobs, FATEs, etc.

I am going to take a stab and say you mean the recommendations (things you can complete in a specific zone at your current level) and not the DF. Under CHaracter config from the Main menu go to UI Settings, and at the bottom there are two tick boxes for show upon login and area change. tick them and click apply, hope that helps

How I see the new abilities:
Asylum - Get ready for my holy spam because that's the only healing you gonna get.
Aero III - I guess I should put some dots up before holy spamming.
Assize - I need more MP to spam holy even more, also stop getting hit in the face.
Tetragrammaton - I guess I should heal that tank now.
Stone III - There's less than 3 mobs left alive. - Ragns Meuhie

Also, keep in mind that there is an item purchasable from your Grand Company (once you're able to ally with one) that will reset your Attribute Points allocation.

I'm not sure what the optimal allocation is for a Lancer, just know that it is not strictly permanent.

one thing you might want to try is shouting in the zone to see if other people need it or is willing to help.

you just might find someone who has done it already that's willing to do it again.

I believe you can give the envelope items to a lady behind a counter in Revenant's Toll, which is in Mor Dhona.

Yes, and be aware that a "Cascadier Uniform" is a level 1 armor that looks like a swimsuit. The only stat bonus is a small one to fire resistance, and you can't put this in your armoire in the inn, either.
