Because apparently it never rains in Gridania. Was standing in Gridania for almost 3 hours and not a single rain drop which is a requirement to catch a certain fish for the level 40 fisher class quest.

So thank you SE for making me waste 3 hours because of your bull**** requirements for a level 40 quest yeah 40 and not 50.

Of course you buy your fish if your in a hurry if not... well it's going to rain at some point .. it always does. How you think those fish got in the market board in the 1st place ? Yeah because buying everything and rushing everything is ALWAYS fun sorry but not everyone plays like you. I played XI so really 3 hours is nothing waiting on something but weather effects never waited 3 hours for it.

FYI I'm currently stuck at the very same quest and I'm totally fine with it. I have other things to do too. At least you can buy the fish and cheat the way through a quest that's supposed to be a test of your fishing skills if you're in an absolute hurry.

I don't need to wait. I do other things like crafting, farming, fishing something profitable, hopping to an alt, chatting with people or leveling up a combat class. And duty finder as a DPS can sometimes get as far as several hours. That restricts your options quite a lot further than waiting for a rainy weather as a fisher.

Seriously, there's no need to be upset if you take a look at the alternatives. Besides, I'd attribute fishing particularily as a class that's synonymous at least to some patience and persistence. Edit/addition: Fishing things like these seem to be the very last thing we have left of the wonderful weather system we used to have. I'd hate to lose even those tiny scraps because of situations like these.

If it was common for something like this then I wouldn't have to post but since nothing takes 3 hours in this game it needs to be brought up. From the 4 50's I have none of the level 40 quests took long to do in fact pretty sure combined they still wouldn't add up to this one quest.
