they did something like this with the 360 version, but it was something microsoft pushed not SEI don't know where I read it, maybe somebody else does, but I believe its worth mentioning that in order to play the game on the PS3 version, you'll need to link a PS3 version key on to your SE account. While this is not a problem for most people, it's kind of annoying for me, because I plan on buying the PS3 version for my wife when it is released. If I ever want to play my account on a PS3, I'd need to buy a second copy to link to my SE account. It won't be like FFXI where as long as its installed you can use your account on any machine.
I may have understood it incorrectly when I was registering.
what you may be hearing right now is a rumor based on how they did that and may have no truth behind it
