    Stat Potions

Is it just me or is anyone else confused as to why these have such terrible durations. I understand that food covers the whole long duration stat thing but I really liked how Wow had potions give a ton of a single stat and food would give a small amount of a bunch of stats.

As of now it really seems like stat potions are a joke, I was even trying to use a dex potion for fishing but the potions duration is so low that it doesn't even last long enough for me to catch a fish.

In a mmo food and potions usually end up being the basis of long term stable income but in this game potions seem completely useless.

It's not just stat potions, ALL potions are a joke and the Alchemy class needs a major overhaul. There's even a stickied post in the forums about this.

The stat Potions are the way they are becuase they would be too powerful otherwise...here is just one example because this is what I play.
BARD: Hawk's Eye: Dex Bonus Dex potion: Dex Bonus Raging Strikes: Attack bonus (20%) Blood for Blood: Attack Bonus (20%)....so think about how powerful it is now....Dex increased twice and then attack up 40% for like 20 seconds....if the potions lasted even longer it would be way too over-powered.
Again...I am not too sure how this works on other JOBS but it is really good on BARD already.

Not to crash the Mega Potion of Mind market, but I ran a few tests myself on SCH, if you take a Potion of Mind, then summon your fairy, it will permanently receive the bonus from the potion. In the context of the fact that it does wear off so quickly for everyone else, I expect this will probably be changed at some point. But for now, there is at least one perfectly valid use for Potions of Mind.

Uh oh, I has a feeling the price of Mega Potions of Mind will go up. I thought of them as like a second Divine Seal, but if they affect da pets... oh shiznit son.

What are you talking about? WoW potions function exactly the same as this. WoW had potions and flask/elixirs. You must be thinking of the latter which are long term as well.

WoW potions gave a ton of your main stat for a short duration.
    Example: http://www.wowhead.com/item=76089/virmens-bite

Though the cd says 1 min, you can only use it once per battle(cd doesn't start till you're out of combat). But it was essentially a powerful extra cooldown that you would stack with your other damage cooldowns for great effect.
I have no problem with the long duration flasks and all, but it's essentially redundant. Potions are active consumables, and good raiders will use all the tools they can to help them during critical moments of a fight.

Potions are 16% (67 max) increase in a your main stat. With damage cooldowns used at the same time, your dps soars tremendously. When the economy settles down, I imagine people will be replenishing potions every week.

That said, it is less useful for tanks. That's the case in WoW too.

Could probably do the same with Summoner and Garuda but with Int potions instead.
