Is it Possible to form a coomplete Party for Story Dungeons?

I have wondered if it is possible to enter a story dungeon with a complete party of your choosing? i didn't see any way to set that up in the Duty finder but it sounds like it may be and i see parties that seem to be pre arranged going into dungeons together....and coming out happily later one...or one by one dead and then coming out happy.

any tips on this? I am thinking of helping start a newbie friendly FC and wondered about this being able to do a group of your own choosing....and how it might work..

It's definitely possible - you can also partially form it and then have the Duty Finder fill in the empty spots in the party by registering your partially formed party for duty, although this can take a while. But more to the point, you can definitely preform your own party and enter the dungeon yourself (either through the Duty Finder or by clicking on the 'entrance' target at the dungeon's front door.)

A few weeks back while tinkering about with my MRD I decided to go with Kazuhiro from our LS, along with Arielyanna and John. Kaz went as PLD. That was technically TWO tanks going into a dungeon together. I just played off tank/dps for the run. So you can most certainly go into a premade dungeon with whatever set up you wish. The DF doesn't consider your class choices when you provide it with a fully premade group.

Yes, you get a party of 4 people, doesnt matter their class, I have run dungeons with a tank, a dd, a sch and me(whm)

Yep, I usually pre-form my parties ( even if im backtracking to lower dungeons to help someone )
Not to say that all pugs are trolls and meanies, but I found I like avoiding taking the chance =D especially after the healer once dps'ed and told my THAUMATURGE in the party to do the healing and then kept letting me die ( I was tanking ) ..a nd it was only Halatali ...ROFL

But ya, I always check in my FC and LS ( SHINIES ! Shameless plug :P ) if anyone wants to do or need it and I invite b4 I pug.

Premade groups can be really fun. I ran a group in Tam-Tara with 2 THM, 1 Acn, and my Miqo'te's 16cnj. The Thms ended up tanking off each other but was an absolute blast to run through. also ran a manor with three summoners and a cnj. That was a bite more chaotic, but mixing up premades can be alot of fun!

wow great..ok. so HOW do you do this? when i get a dungeon mission, i see that you go to that dungeon and "register" with the gate guard and then you see the dungeon on your list of dungeons in the duty finder, with a check box and if you clock the box there you then get 'called" but HOW do you set up the pre made group? i am thinking of starting a Free Company on one of the Japanese servers I play on as it has been a bit tough to get thru the dungeon due to the meaniies..thanks for that love that term....and i am a bit shy about it now. Not always bad, sometimes they are great but not always. Sez_Urundies...i LOVE the kitty vid i hope he/she was ok after that encounter with the cup

you simply envite your 3 other members (for light party) or 7 members (heavy party) and then the leader selects the dungoen in the DF and select join. The whole party will put put in. If its complete for the content (ie Sastasa is a 4man party) you will autocatically get in and can choose ANY combinations of classe to go; if you have to pick up a random player or 2, you will have to abide by the 1 tank, 1 healer, 2 dps party construction. I advise NOT to que as 2 dps if you dont have at least one of the other 2 with you.

For fun this week I did a FC dungeon run on Sastasha that was 2 MRDs, 1 PLD and 1 SCH. It's definitely doable. If you put the group together yourself you can do any configuration you like.
