You forget to take into account the BRDs utility in support. BRD is not a pure damage class like BLM, PUG, and DRG. Hence why they pull ahead in parsing.

So no, BRD shouldn't match pure damage classes in raw numbers.

I raid tier 2 in Rift also, maining as a pure Bard. So would like to see Bard pushed further towards support in FFXIV also.

So Musketeer will probably be the ranged non magic pure damage class. Not BRD.

again worst argument there is out there. explane to me where support is on the duty finder? please i have looked, am i just missing something....... bards are already getting a slight dps nerf. there needs to be a mechanic or potency addition if they are going to nerf the damage we do while moving. we already parse lower than all other dps

Flaming Arrow (DoT) : 4.47% - Attacks: 1969766
Venomous Bite       : 3.7% - Attacks: 659696
Windbite            : 2.23% - Attacks: 663468

Disregarding misery's end (since execute is not really simmed correctly, as I dunno how long you spend in execute phase), BL should be outperforming both WB and VB (even if you lump them together with their DoTs).

Theres no support in DF, because theres no pure support class. If there was a pure support class you wouldnt use it in 4 or 8 peep anyways, as they would be a waste of a slot as to be useful as pure support in small party the support capabilities would need to ouweigh the benefits of just taking a DPS instead which would make them overpowered. Also pure support couldn't solo which would go against the design of FFXIV ARR.

If you said BRD needs stronger support utility to outweigh the nerfs (which we dont know what they will be yet) I'd fully agree. But calling BRD a pure DPS role is incorrect, hence the parsing disparity. Or if the removed the support capabilities and buffed to pure DPS, fair enough also.

Tp be honest. I think SE tried to make a useful but not mandatory support role with BRD but ended up making it underwhelming in both support and DPS. Which I think is something we can both agree upon.
