We are currently investigating this issue and will look into what adjustments need to be made based on the overall balance.

We plan to release a comment about this early next week. We don’t plan on closing Turn 5 again in order to address this issue at the moment, and there are no problems if you would like to continue to challenge this content.

Ahh ok thank you. Was more or less wondering if the bugs still persisted from players. I will show this news to my coil group/friends and hopefully this win and information will shake off their its "impossible" idea. Hopefully pull in some new strats as well. I want to keep going at t5 and beat it as well before it gets easier. ^^

The thread was confirming the sleep the conflag and snakes bug. They don't care if you abuse that bug because that's not as difficult of a mechanic as further along in the fight. Canmate posted in either the Coil thread or the Twisters thread stating that Twisters were working as intended and not bugged.

Ohhh thank you ^^ especially for the link. I really appreciate it. I'd just rather not abuse any bug =< I get its not a huge deal though comparing it to later on. Just wouldn't feel right. After seeing Yoshi P letter stating that his team made it difficult it spread quickly along with the bugs everyone was like "oh its impossible and buggy even if we get close it could just bug and would be a waste of time." I am happy they fixed the issues though and the sleeping bug is avoidable. So it'll be good to get back into it.

It's really nice BG answers questions and its good news no issues were found in the battle. I appreciate all the information greatly.

It varies greatly either way, but something like ~380ms without and ~300ms with.
I'm actually the only member of our group who used BattlePing before Turn 5 (and, as mentioned earlier, until quite recently), so I'm afraid I can't provide any insight on how other Australians would fare without a proxy in this fight. I came to terms with living on a tunnel many years ago.

I agree with what an earlier post said about glitching the Conflags. EVEN if you do exploit the conflags (not that I think OP did), the other mechanics are so much harder to deal with that it's clearly a joke anyway. The gear and skill needed to beat the fight itself will surely be good enough to kill the conflags before the explosion occurs.

For those who do not know... The Order of the Blue Garter has been around for a LONG time and had quite the reputation for being the first to figure fights out in the FFXI community, way back in the day. They wouldn't post something like this if they didn't kill it the legit way and have the video to back it up. I'm also willing to bet that if they did figure out an unfair glitch, they would purposefully wipe the fight and avoid triggering that exploit again. It's about both honor and pride. If you want to say you have the world first.. you can't in good conscience beat it in an unfair way.

Anyway, congrats on the win! I have mixed feelings about seeing the video. I understand both sides of the spectrum when it comes to this. On the one hand, I would love to see how it was FINALLY done. On the other hand, I would like to try my hand and 'figure it out'. Having the world first accomplishment isn't important to me -- plus, I am nowhere near geared enough to pull that off. However, there is something very special about being able to say YOU figured the fight out yourself. This is one thing that instantly 'goes away' once a strategy is developed and known.

Once a strategy becomes common knowledge, the fight is easier for those with the skill/gear to replicate it, and part of the challenge is gone. The video that is posted will get thousands upon thousands of views because EVERY single raid leader will tell their raid members to watch the video in full, study it, memorize it... whatever it takes to get it down and win. Everyone has the choice to NOT watch the video... but once the information is out there, it is out there for good. I hope people understand what I am trying to say.

I suspect this is one of the reasons so many Free Companies are rushing to get it done ASAP -- not because they want to say "I DID IT FIRST," but because they want to be able to say, "WE FIGURED IT OUT BEFORE STRATEGIES WERE KNOWN/RELEASED." I'd rather kill it for the latter reason.

Woohoo, congratulations! Hopefully Balmung will be able to conquer Turn 5 soon. I was originally planning to wait on attempting Coil until patch 2.1 so I could grind Crystal Tower for gear, but after hearing about this, I'm willing to give Coil a shot now. Got full DL plus my upgraded relic.
