I believe you'll be stuck playing it on a ps3 till they release it for the ps4 since they keep stressing no ps3 games are playable on the ps4 not even downloaded ones.

Ah ok. Ty that clears things up. Sucks but meh.
The ps4 version of the game will be free for anyone that has already got the ps3 versions, but you wont be able to play the ps3 version again w/o buying another copy since the account info will be transferred from the ps3 version to the ps4.
1) PS4 Beta Test starts on February 22, 2014.
2) PS3 Users can upgrade to PS4 for Free (but lose PS3 Access in the bargain).
3) PS4 will be able to Stream to the PS Vita and they are looking into how to make use of the back touchscreen since the Vita only has 2 Shoulder buttons.
4) You will be able to use the touchpad in the center of the DS4-Controller as a mouse.
5) An official release date for the finished version of the PS4 Edition of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has not been set, but I would place it as anywhere from March to May with the PS4 beta continuing on and off throughout its test cycle.
If it is in March it will fall 'Between' 2.2 and 2.3, while if it is in May it might actually come 'with' 2.3.
Graphics could easily be on par with DX11, and superior to the DX9 PC Version. There is no reason to think that the PS4 version will not be international/multinational/multi-regional upon launch as we (US and EU) get the PS4 sooner than Japan gets the PS4.People play with a gamepad on the PC so yes, I would say you can play any role with it. It was designed to be as easy as possible to control.
I doubt the graphics will be better than PC (not much of a reason, graphics aren't everything), but as far as I know, the ps4 version goes into beta when the PS4 launches in Japan. so unfortunately, it seems they will get it first since it won't be out in the rest of the world until some time after.
The PlayStation4 is releasing in the USA on 11-15-2013.
The PlayStation4 is releasing in the EU on 11-29-2013. (2 weeks after USA)
The PlayStation4 is releasing in Japan on 2-22-2014. (3 MONTHS after USA and EU)

Also is playing on a console viable is it possiple to heal or tank the same using a controller over a mouse and keyboard on hard fights like primals and Coil?

Wow thanks for the info!
i dont think this is true
you can play on both doesnt matter
but who would play on PS3 anymore when it releases on PS4 by anyway?
Ps4 version starts beta on Feb22nd the day the ps4 launches in Japan.
"Your former glories and all the stories, dragged and washed with eager hands..but oh your city lies in dust my friend!"
The PS3 client will not run on the PS4, but if you have the PS3 client you will be entitled to the PS4 client at no additional charge. You'll just have to download it.
PS4 get DirectX9
It would have same same graphic quality like the current PC graphic on the highest setting.
