Great job !
I do hope they will read and understand.
Because they've failed hard on so many easy and obvious topics at start, how will they manage to catch up with all the work that needs to be done.

Yea, I did forget about that. FFX didn't take the traditional path either, they only used Fire, Water, Lightning, and Ice. So, elements that didn't necessarily make sense had to oppose other elements. Thunder < - > Water and Fire < - > Ice. Dark < -> Light makes sense, as does Light < - > Dark.Thought I should add, the elemental wheel information seems fair enough, but it's not been consistent in previous Final Fantasies at all despite the fact you say it's been the same for some 20 years. For example, FFX had a totally wacky elemental structure of Ice <-> Fire, Thunder <-> Water, Light <-> Dark (I think?) so it does change fairly regularly.
That said, FFXIV's is SO much more complicated than it needs to be.
Sorry about the late response, trying to abuse Emulate as much as possible before it gets nerfed lol.Cool.
* Your keybinding interface needs work. There are a number of keys on the keyboard that seem to be strictly off-limits for whatever reason--some are reserved; others, they just aren't allowed to be used for whatever reason: Insert, Delete, Home, End, Page Up and Down, the Arrow Keys, the / on the keypad, [ and ], and the number keys are the ones I can immediately recall. Additionally, modifiers can't be used: there's no using Shift, Alt, or Ctrl in conjunction with the other keys to get additional binds, and this really shouldn't be the case in this day and age.
* Tying in with keybinding, I should be able to rebind the keys for the ability bar. The 1-9 keys are a decent standard to default to, but I find it easier and more efficient to bind my own keys and bring them closer to my movement keys for easy access.
I've decided that I would continue this list and make regular updates. As of now, I've been maintaining a list and posting it to my Lodestone, but it was pretty much whenever I found the time or decided there was a good amount of changes to be added that should be published.
I might make regular updates within a weeks time after each significant patch (not after patches like 1.15b). I think also pictures are a great way to communicate an idea/change/suggestion. I'm open to anymore suggestions anyone might have, bugs, balance changes, statistical-graphical information, etc. I'll consider pretty much anything to incorporate into the list.
Read every page, good job on it.
Page 42 was a good read
I'm totally bumping this over time
This is an amazing job Keft! I /salute your effort and hopefully this will be read and considered by the dev team. Too many good points to point to just a few, but a very good read and I suggest everyone who plays the game to take a look.
Great post. I checked to make sure my main issue was addressed and it was.
I hate the controls and want to use the arrow keys for the camera like in FFXI. Even though FFXIV didn't let me, I just set them to read IJKL as the arrow keys and did it that way anyway. It wasn't perfect because the game wasn't meant to work that way, but I was able to manage with it.
In this latest update it basically messed up all my controls. Now I hear the constant "YOU CAN'T CLICK ON THAT!!!!!" sound while I'm moving my camera around, or it suddenly changes what I can click on. It's a real nuisance and I have to admit... I wouldn't pay to play until these controls are a least fixed. I don't understand why they keep messing with the arrows like that instead of just letting us set them up how we want to. I went to fight for the first time since that change today and it was a huge added pain.
Being able to switch who we want to click on MIGHT be nice... If it was on some other button. Even then, I don't normally think, "I only want to click on Party members"...
So that's my absolute biggest pet peeve ingame right now.
As for the armory system, I like it. I don't want the nuisance of walking back to my mog house just to change classes. If I know how to cook, and I have a pot on me, why should I have to walk all the way back to a moogle and have the moogle tell me, "I now allow you to use your pot!" As if I've somehow forgotten to cook otherwise...
Personally, I think that's one of FFXIV's biggest improvements over FFXI. I don't see the advantage of making people walk more, or even how it makes more sense. Like I said - if someone knows how to use a spear, why do they have to go home to remember how to use it instead of just pulling it out? I can't even imagine how much worse crafting would be if that changed. I definitely don't want to run out to Bloodshore 3 times to do three different leves. And I don't really recall it making FFXI more enjoyable - if you want danger, there's always high level places. Walk to Mor Dhona; I saw plenty of danger there.
Really nice work, those are great suggestions.

A lot of suggested changes and agree with most of them.
