Sounds like what the forums will be providing/doing lol.
He has said he doesn't want to do a player wipe and they are going to avoid it. Still i'm pretty much still looking at this game as a beta.. its pretty much how they are treating it.Yoshida already clarified quite clearly that they're not going to remove anything the players have achieved, so you can be pretty much sure that the foundation of the armory system will stay as it is.
They will most probably add on top of it, but if you hope people won't be able to switch class with their weapon freely, or to mix and match abilities, I think you'll be hoping for a long time.
It all comes down to how many people are going to pay monthly when they decide to start charging. If they can keep their subscribers, and have an additional 10% keeping the system vs doubling with a new design and a player wipe... which way do you think they will go?
This is a game for us, but its a source of income for SE. They are going to appeal to the mass market or they will fail. It really wouldn't bother me if they did a player wipe with the ps3 release... whenever thats going to happen. But who knows? Nothing is certain and i'm sure the last thing they want to do is upset the players, but sometimes you gotta break a few eggs.
You may love the armory system and think its the best thing in the world. But this isn't about a person, its about making money. Its going to come down to return on investment on man hours, and how many people will join/leave with changes.
You'll stay if the armory system stays the way it is. I won't. But in the end that doesn't matter, what matters is the other people out there both playing and not playing as a whole.
The armory system is good, it is just that a person can still get through the main storyline without using the mulitple classes availiable. In order to counter this, a good suggestion would be to add new story, cutscene, battle, crafting, puzzle enriched side quests that compliment multiple classes. Such as having smithing, armorer, and and a war class at certain levels in order to do a quest that impliments the abilities of the said classes. Then players would have experienced more of the features availiable in the game.
Wait... did you honestly say that you want to have a class and be stuck in it? Um... don't change your weapon? Problem solved. That is a bit of a read, and i like how you've thought about a lot of the issues.
The main issue i have with this game is the armory system... it needs to go. It literally sucks all the fun out of the game for me. I like having a class, and seeing what i can do within that class.
They need to either go to having classes with some sort of subclassing or go all out and just have skill trees where you build your own character out of classes. The current system is horrid.
Well, I chuckled anyway.Suggestive Changes
EDIT: This is really well done, just looking through it now. It's very unique and shows a lot of effort's been put in, hope they notice it!
EDIT2: Just to say, whilst presented well, putting things like "How is multishot even fair compared to every other class? Seriously." Just smacks of bias and doesn't provide the clarity they're looking for in solutions. Not that it's incorrect, it just makes the presentation seem less professional.

Well, if I wanted to be professional, then I would remove every editorial comment put into it.Well, I chuckled anyway.

It's only in a PDF format because of the length of it all and although I don't want to come off yapping my mouth left and right in it, I also don't want to censor my frustration with some things.

I like the armory system and being able to mix and match my skills and abilities.

I just died.
This is unbelievable! Fantastic job!!

Good stuff!
And hello!

maybe add a sell multi item and buy multi item from NPC will be nice, sell 1 item/time is pain, also the limit of trade item should raise from 4 to 8-10 item
