Where exactly in the patch notes was it mentioned? Just looked over them again and there's no mention of needing to break level cap to get the additional bardings, or reagan peppers not giving you the bardings.

I believe Yoshi mentioned it at E3, not in the patch notes but it has been stated that you need to raise its level cap in order to get the bardings.

Thanks for this post. I've only ever levelled my Choco (called Bocco) into the tank tree, but i think i'm gonna grab me a reagan pepper and have a go at the all rounder. I've yet to rank up to ten with him (currently working on 6 :[ ) , but this should make him a lil more useful than he is at the moment.
And yes please, to whoever posted asking for post 2.3 info, can we have some of that pretty please? xD Is choco raising/training going to be worth the time investment over just grinding ?
Idk, but I just tested (rank 10 choco)Where exactly in the patch notes was it mentioned? Just looked over them again and there's no mention of needing to break level cap to get the additional bardings, or reagan peppers not giving you the bardings.
Put everything in defender tree, got paladin barding
used pepper
put everything in attacker tree, did not get anything
anyone able to get their chocobo over rank ? if so, does it add SP on a continually increasing basis like 1-10?

So I got my Chocobo to rank 11 today. He already has the White Mage barding, so I thought what the heck since allied seals aren't hard to get. Picked up a couple peppers and respecced him into full DPS tree, no Dragoon barding for only breaking level cap once. Back to hybrid spec!
Also, the xp gained per carrot with a Good stable rating is 14560 out of 1714000xp, which is 0.85% per session.
Feeding specialty feed after it becomes a favorite food does nothing special. Chocobo has Curiel as a favorite, training him with Curiel is the same 14560xp.

feeding him curiel only works if you have summoned your chocobo, it obtains +7.5% or +15% increased exp from killing enemies (depending on if curiel is his favourite food or not), the effect disappears after 30 min when your chocobo expires
while stabled you can always feed him krakka, it wont change or delete his favourite food
rank 13 requires 2m exp btw and a training gives him ~15.7k exp + ~300k via challenge log
At any level:
- Traning at fully clean ("sparkly") stables always provides exactly 1% of the total XP needed for that level thus exactly 100 Krakka roots are need for one full level (so it seems that you're "wasting" the food and time by training at not fully clean stables).
- Challenge log will give you bonus of 15% (5 + 10) each week of given XP needed for current level (e.g. saving you 15 krakkas per chocobo per week).

Someone was asking if you got bonus training xp for training their choco with their favorite food. Think that was why I mentioned it.
Each training was 0.9% at lv10-11, and 0.85% from 11-12. According to ServerCollaps, each training at 12-13 is 0.785%. It's definately on a downward path, but not at a linear rate.
