Not to mention I also believe that what Leonesaurus and Alexia said is mostly true. The Empire is actually the "nice guys", but they don't mind a little dominating and mind-controlling every now and then.

Ala Mhigo probably did something for it to be attacked and conquered (while the rest of Eorzea was left "in peace"). Alliance with a beast tribe? A primal? Something else completely different?

I also believe it came from the Garlean "mothership" which was seen looming ominously.

The judge sets off a flare and the triggers the crashed airship in the background to fire the huge blast. If you watch the openning Movie you see the battle and also when it crashes into the lake in Mor Dhona freeing the Primals.

I believe the Garleans are trying to prevent a huge disaster from happening, 6th Umbral Era is my guess. I believe down the line they will turn out to be the lesser of the two evils and a new foe shall emerge.

The Judge says "the stench of shadow lingers still". I believe the Shadow he is referring to is an evil that has been released in the airship crash.

In the openning Cutscene the Garlean's are in a huge battle with the Dragons. Ishgard is also at war with the dragons but we do not know what has caused this deep hatred.

I do not think the Garleans war is with us but the will not hesitate to destroy anything in their way and they have a deep hatred of the beast tribes and anyone who works with them. I am sure I remember an NPC saying that Garlean airships had been dropping linkshell pearls in cities telling people they would come to know harm if the turned over anyone connected with the beast tribes.

I don't know, i think you guys are misreading his words, when he... whatever he is, talks he doesn't say "the stench of shadow" he says the cloying stench of shadow" as in, to much of something good, like cloyingly sweet or cloyingly romantic.

I get the vibe that the "stench" of shadow, smells very good to the big Garlean bad guy.

I don't think they are trying to prevent a great disaster, they are trying to bring one on.

I am very interested to know more of the 5 npcs that do battle with him, and have been saving us since the beginning, where are they from? Obviously they have been fighting the empire for awhile, They seemed to know what he was and were prepared for everything he had to throw at them.

And is what they are doing any tell as to the future of the classes/jobs? the miquote seems to be conj the lala, thm, and the girl (forget if shes human or elzen) is obviously pug. what is the guy with the daggers? I notice he throws daggers more so then melee (I have heard they have hinted of future "Jobs" that will require more then one class to unlock)

Is he some job that will require Glad and Arc to unlock? gladiator I'm assuming for daggers and arc I'm assuming for the mobility, agility and ranged use of them he displayed.

All an all this cut scene and entire quest, has left my mind going crazy, and has really peaked my interest for the storyline and content to come, I cant wait! Big thumbs up to SE on the Storyline and cut scenes so far all around.
