Playstation 3 Version

Hello Final Fantasy XIV Devs. I can't find any information about the Playstation 3 version being released. I tried the forums but don't seem to have any luck. The last thing I heard was it's ready and Square Enix, is waiting for the game to be ready before the release. Is there any information about when they think the game should be up to par? Me personally. I have an awesome computer and it still runs pretty bad. I'd like to play it on my PS3. Any information would be valuable! plus, I have tons of friends who want to join, but they don't have the fancy computers. Thanks a lot!

I am guessing that you'll hear something about the PS3 release sometime after the next patch - 1.18, or at least by the end of summer.

I'm waiting too, but I have the feeling that it won't be released until they fix all the main updates they wanna do with this game to make it what it needs to be. Then they'll release it for PS3. I'm hoping to see it by summer 2012 because that's when I was planning on getting it anyway for PS3 :P

I'm hoping they can put these patches and updates out by the end of this year. I can only guess that the game will be released once their checklist is fulfilled!

Seems like we have about as much in this game now as XI had when it started. Let's get it out there ASAP plz people are waiting to play ^^. soon as summer updates complete there is no reason it shouldn't be out. We are well past March.

What? no. Please no. I want a successful launch and this wouldn't qualify. Not that I think the devs are listening to you but I just think its premature releasing now and they know this. My guess is by the end of the summer, we will supposedly have everything outlined in Producer Letter X, at which point tweaks will follow and the addition of more periodic content leading up to November which is my guess as to when they'll be releasing PS3 version. THAT or they announce soon that PS3 version is coming at the end of the summer but that would put so much stress on the dev team I don't see it happening. Definitely this year though, without a doubt, in time for the holidays.

Regarding the PlayStation 3, it is not our wish to release a simple conversion of the Windows version in its current state, but rather an update that includes all the improvements we have planned. For that reason, we have made the difficult decision to delay the release of the PlayStation 3 version beyond the originally announced date of March 2011.

I don't the devs are going to release it because you're saying it should be released, I was just saying it would be premature at this point, I'm sure they're not going to rush it out again only to see it fail again. Its kind of sad to think how many people were playing this game at launch and how many people are playing it today - would be a hell of a lot more fun if we had full servers today and I want the PS3 to help do that.
