and back to OP who said you could solo sky on blm in ffxi... unless you were talking abt solo-ing elementals, solo-ing sky and gods were not possible until much much later. late roz and early cop, you still needed at least a 15-man alliance to clear sky.
I didn't say I was solo'ing sky as black mage in ffxi, but I see the confusion. I solo'ed in ffxi as red mage. Solo'ing sky and gods were quite possible back before cap was raised above 75. I also didn't say I cleared sky (as in kirin), just that I solo'ed there more than the elementals.
Edit: The 1000 character maximum is annoying ...

Anyway, I agree with both sides. It's an mmo, so I wouldn't get your hopes up for a solo dungeon. That said, I too sometimes find myself short on FC buddies since I have an odd schedule and also have a big mix of NA and EU (many of which I don't share a common language with) and would sometimes like to something challenging like a dungeon or primal, without relying on DF. It would be cool if they had solo primal fights especially. Not for the same rewards, hell I wouldn't care if I got anything more than a leve's worth of Xperia and/or gil to cover repairs. It would be a great challenge. Maybe they will bring back Maat but as an optional fight, that could be a fun challenge.

But again I don't think they need to add solo anything just let us enter the dungeon without a full party. I know WP would be beatable with a SMN and WHM. Hell probably with a SMN solo.

Maat was a fun fight (especially as RDM)! Also, solo'ing dungeons or primals. Solo'ing Summons in FFXI -> Solo'ing Primals in FFXIV. They have different difficulties with corresponding rewards, so it doesn't seem like it would be too much of a challenge to add in a "Solo Mode" where the only real point is a fun challenge. I mean, there are Fates that have "unique" mobs to them ... is there any real point to them other than the challenge/fill out content?
What Warrior of Light is going to go "No, I cannot clear this dungeon of bats. My friends aren't here! How will I kill these creatures!" and no Warrior of Light is going to go "Well, I want to help clear this town of rats, but these rats are weaker than I am. Let me strip down and fight with my bare hands!"
