Most users "fix" the issue by pre-moving. Others are able to cast a spell once they're out of their position to update their position so they don't get hit. The later wouldn't work if it was caused by latency issues alone. Additionally, -every- MMO has people connecting to it with horrible latency. Every single one. There will always be some people with crappy internet that get a ping equal to that of what some people are getting throttled to. So the issue would still be present in other MMOs. You can't tell me there's not a good portion of people playing WoW (12+ million subscribers at peak) who didn't have crap internet.

I've responded to you before, you keep seeming to ignore it. Latency intensifies the issue, it is not the cause. Everyone does have the issue, it's the whole .1 second delay Yoshi himself stated is there for everyone at the very least. If you fix the cause, suddenly latency is not an issue, just like every other MMO on the market. Fact of the matter is, 500ms in FFXIV will get you killed by AOEs you were out of and that isn't the case for any other MMO out there. Zero. Can people check their end and possibly reduce it? Sometimes they can, sure, but you're still just ignoring the root issue, and that will eventually cause the game to fail as people get frustrated enough with it to leave.

I'm not sure where all these people are that don't have the problem at all. Cause in all the threads I've seen about the issue, it's only about the same 5-6 saying the issue doesn't exist (and yes, when you keep saying that "I don't get it, it's on user's end", you are saying it doesn't exist). There are a few more than that who confuse the issue and say something like "quit QQing cause things are dodgeable".. but still seem to admit the issue is there with phrases like "the problem is they didn't use a skill after the AOE" or "you have to be out by 90% of the cast bar to dodge". People should be able to play this game with the same latency they can play every other game with. 500ms doesn't make any other game's AOEs undodgeable, just this one. Additionally, people shouldn't have to upgrade their computers if they meet the minimum specs on the box, so I personally don't care about any of the upgrading hardware crap (nevermind that it hasn't worked for some people, and PS3 users literally don't have that option).

Edit to add: Also, if you haven't yet, you should really give this thread a once-over http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...annot-be-fixed.
That is from someone in the industry and details out what likely is at the root of all this (we can't know without some sort of statement from SE). It also explains -why- latency highlights it, and how no other MMO that he knows of has used that model before. Go figure. Additionally, you really can't know if it's on the user's end until SE fixes the core issue.
