Why would he say high-lvl content and exclude the most obvious high-lvl content in that statement? xD high-lvl content doesn't mean "Primals only" it means high-lvl content, which in my book is "general for endgame". Everything else is nitpicking xDSeriously? I didn't hear that while watching Reinhard's translation (who said he couldn't translate everything though, so I agree we shouldn't take that as fact).
The official Q&A translation in this forum doesn't say specifically though.
A2: If we apply faster response times in all areas, the load on the servers will be too much. Therefore, while it will only be for certain areas (for example high-level content and the Wolves' Den), you will be able to notice the faster response times. Please stay tuned![/I]
If it's all high-level content, including Coil, CT etc., then I stand corrected. And satisfied!
I agree, I just assumed so from the live letter translation, since I only read Primordial Fights and Den there. It was a great thing for Reinhardt to do anyway, so I don't blame him btw. Don't blame me either!![]()

This thread below explains why we have the "netcode" issue. Was this what you were discussing?

PS: its a Primal, not Primordial. it sounds weird when you call it that.

Yeah, I should now about that that thread, since its OP was originally posted in my open letter thread (you know, that one with the big wall of text) aimed at trying to get SE's attentionThis thread below explains why we have the "netcode" issue. Was this what you were discussing?
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...nnot-be-fixed.But nevertheless it's a good idea to link to it often, since I think Sinth (its OP) is right. And anyway it's quite informative.
In my post above I was discussing the fact that the fix intended by SE (increased frequency check) isn't, from what I understood in the thread you just linked, addressing the nub of the netcode issue (server live-state as opposed to client live-state). Put bluntly, this fix might just reduce the problem but not fix it entirely. It's possible we still get hit while out of the AoE 5% of the time instead of, say, 50% currently. (Again, this is just pure speculation on my part, and these % are just examples for the sake of discussion.)
I'm actually very glad they're addressing the issue, and that they talked about it a "LIVE Letter", so I don't want this to seem like ranting.
It's just that, should Sinth be right about the server architecture chosen by SE, this increased frequency check might not be enough. (And there are many arguments hinting that Sinth's right, among others the fact that his description of both models are exactly what we observe here versus other MMO's; the fact that within Japan's great network infrastructure the server live-state might not be a problem at all; and the fact that it's quite possible that the PS3 wouldn't be able to perform the calculations required by a client live-state model). We still don't have client-side interpolation or prediction, stuff like that (and probably can't unless, as you read in that other thread, they change the model altogether. I don't know).
So I'm a bit skeptical, you know? But we'll see. I really don't want to spoil the good news that SE's working on the issue, and I certainly don't know their code to judge—I don't actually have the knowledge to make such a judgement anyway.
I'd really like to know what Sinth, or someone else with technical background in running MMO's, thinks about it though.
Haha, sorry. Thanks for reminding me!
I often get confused because, in french, they translated "primal" to "primordial" (though both are exactly the same words in french and in english). I really don't know why they did that, but it's a general trend in translation in this game, many words or expressions were translated in a totally different meaning, even though the word/concept existed in french. I assume the translators were high on something, moogle chemicals, faerie dust, I don't know… haha!Maybe the original Japanese meaning is also a bit more ambiguous, therefore gets translated differently depending on which language is used. Would be interesting to know, actually!
So yeah, my bad. Primal it is!
