Yup! I know the problem existed in FFXI, but it was far less noticeable because the game seemed to be focused around it.
FF11 was along the lines of EQ1 where the game is more about resource management as opposed to move around really fast or you die, so while lag is always the same, it's not as crippling. It probably doesn't help that FF14 strived to be the MMORPG that puts the most weight on dodging an AE in a split second compared to any other MMORPG out there.
Can we all move over to the below linked thread? The OP provides examples and very detailed information. Plus it has over 150 pages! I'd really like to see this issue fixed, but we need to be an organized community on this.

Thank you
I actually created this thread after that thread was closed and reopened by mods citing it as an end game discussion thread. Many, many people were also mistaking it for a QQ about Titan thread. I did link to that thread in the OP, and still post in it though. Can we all move over to the below linked thread? The OP provides examples and very detailed information. Plus it has over 150 pages! Thank you
Oh, I'm not saying no MMO has issues. However no MMO ever has had the issue where you get hit by AOEs when you're out. Not a single one. Every MMO gets lag and server crashes at launch though, and I have never once complained about the server crashes, or latency itself. However, I should not be getting hit by AOEs I was out of, period.
