It's 3 million gil on your person, 1 million per retainer. And 1.0 players have been getting punished since the Beta, all cause of naysayers wanting not to see what he had in 1.0 under a 'clever' ruse of economic damage. Heaven forbid that 1.0 players weren't already taxed when they cut our gil by 1 digit (I started 2.0 with 30,000 gil from the 300,000 I had before). Economic concerns is no longer an acceptable excuse, that damage has been done already by RMT and how. "Why do you think it's the old items?" Because more than one 'suggestion' for including Legacy servers into World Transfer made no allusions, they suggested the removal of all items that weren't important to the classes of the character being transferred (as well as deleveling of all but one class in each of the Disciplines if more than one was at 50 in each). This is what we're fighting against. Not the economic impact, the egos.
Poor Legacy players, with your special mounts and reduced subscription costs. It must be really rough!
The transfer restrictions you're talking about effect everybody, not just "noble class" legacy players. You guys haven't been knocked down a peg. You're still better than everyone else!

Its not about just legacy players because legacy 1.0 people arent the only ones being held on the legacy servers, new players are as well. I could careless if S.E. took away all 4k of my gold. I dont care. I want to get to my friends on Diabolos thats all that matters. Not 6 months from now. NOW. We've waited long enough.

Wow you guys... seriously talking about the Gil limitations on transferring? Well guess what...
There are no restrictions from you spending all that excess gil on items and actually selling for MORE when you transfer to another server.
So effectively there is no wealth cap and this is severely damaging the economies of the 3 newer servers.

Do none of you understand how simple it is to carry assets over? Make a temp character on the new server, see what sells for the most and mass buy it. If you're clever you might even make a profit.

This is probably one of the concerns of legacy traveling over servers. It's not just gil, but the influx of certain items that are easier to get on a legacy server as opposed to a new server.
For those of you who are worried, legacy cannot transfer to a non-legacy server. This is still closed. legacy can only transfer to legacy servers.

This again? I'm fine with their approach.
They already said repeatedly that you wouldn't be able to transfer to fresh servers. The perks of retaining your 1.0 progress.
If you were THAT intent on playing with your friends you could have rerolled on the new server and shelved your 1.0 character until they unlock the transfer freely option 6months - 1 year down the road.
And it's a total of 5 mil that can be transferred 3 on your character, 1 mil on each retainer.

They max out your Gil not your inventory, have you ever thought of taking over the cap funds and buying a commodity with them? Buying a host of 2 star craft items (potash, peacock ore, etc) would allow you to keep the value of your Gil if not the actual amount. With the new character transfer rules and the limits on gil, it is now safe to say that SE has snubbed legacy players.
Limiting gil I can understand but to limit it to 1M? What is that accomplishing considering current players, after just 2 months have well above that.
Do not start telling me how you have no gil and are poor, because that is how it always is. Some players have gil, and some spend all they ever get.
I busted my rump in 1.0 to make my gil. I could have lived with the 3M limit, but 1M is telling legacy players to go get p*ssed.
This does not even consider the fact that I cannot play with my kids because they went to a new server and there is still no legacy transfers to new servers.
Must be time to gather the kids and move to a new game entirely since I am forced to start over no matter what. I was hoping to join them at some point but SE has bowed to the whiners who say legacy players would kill new servers.
