The whole thread is about ideas to keep it in use. That whole post was pointless. It is frozen, turned transparent staying in the background, all of our current physical levels are not do away with but are sealed and untouched for now...
I know this is not an answer to help your cause op, (*but personally physical level just didn't do much for me so I can't think of much to say right now) at the very least forgo the abolish and just have it disconnected for the time being then maybe someday like in the future it could be used again for something. Not to be mean or hating or derailing the thread nothing like that at all, only stating another way to doing things... that is all.

Make physical levels rule HP, MP and TP. Separating HP from Vit and MP from MND would be awesome seeing allotment will be at classes now. Having a way to raise HP, MP and, occasionally, TP would bering a brand new life to physical levels.
Like allowing to add up to 1000 at one of these attributes if you put everything in one or splitting this 1000 points the way the player feel like doing would be an awesome way of customization.
I didn't even think about that. I don't see how that would be considered broken, except maybe the TP bar (3000 always being the limit regardless of class and rank.) Maybe HP, MP, Stamina, stuff like that.Make physical levels rule HP, MP and TP. Separating HP from Vit and MP from MND would be awesome seeing allotment will be at classes now. While I like the spirit of your idea in trying to make use of the physical level system, I don't see how racial traits have anything to do with attribute growth through classes. The only thing I can see this particular idea doing is to effectively pigeonhole players of a race into specific job roles again since we all know that game communities equate "absolute best" with "the only viable option" no matter how small the difference. You're a Roegadyn conjurer? Gimp. GTFO. L2P. etc. etc...
That's exactly what is concering me. We going back to that disgusting situation FFXI had where if a race isn't good for the class it would often be excluded even if having very decent gear and being a skilled player in that role. While I like the spirit of your idea in trying to make use of the physical level system, I don't see how racial traits have anything to do with attribute growth through classes. Who never said an "Ewwww!! Galka WHM! Just grab the taru/elvaan!"
Racial traits centerfocused around specific classes would be a problem. Unique traits for each race would be nice, but gotta keep it balanced so that each race doesn't end up favoring one class over another. Of course can't have racial traits copy/pasted from one race to another or it's not really "Racial" or even "Clan".While I like the spirit of your idea in trying to make use of the physical level system, I don't see how racial traits have anything to do with attribute growth through classes. Oh, an idea I thought about related to your idea Lienn was a +% bonus to HP or MP, maybe both, from physical level instead of traits. Such as a PL50 character can get +50% HP and MP or +50% divided between the two as the player chooses.

I don't want to see FFXI's *This race does this job best* crap again. I like that lalafell gladiators can do just as good as Roeg gladiators. Best to just call it 'Character Traits'. Going racial means going in that direction.
Yes I would like this...as of now theres no real difference besides looks between the races, adding races traits would be quite a nice touch
Then every class can have crap accuracy compared to miqo, only lalafell should ever be mages, etc.....
Race differences has shown an extreme annoyance to players in FFXI. Hopefullhy they won't do the same mistaken here...specially since it does not happen right now here.
IMO race/clan should be used only for an base automated growth for balancing purposes. But the allotment would still allow players to do a fine-tuning to their character, allowing them to, if they feel like doing it, being able to have optimal attributes for a certain class just like a favorable class does (which means being able to reach that class optimal attributes' cap no matter if the race is favorable or not).
