Fishing for Answers: Where'd my crabs go?

I started a quest yesterday out of LL called "Fishing for Answers", and was asked to go kill some crabs near Aleport. I killed 2 crabs at 26th level, and all that was left after that was a few 29s, and I didn't feel really comfortable trying to fight those on my own, so I logged out hoping to find easier crabs later. At that time, I believe I had obtained 2/5 of the items from the crabs I needed to for the quest.

I logged in tonight, and there aren't any crabs at 'all' on the beach. I looked at the journal, and the map still shows they should be there on the beach. I tried running back into Aleport and back down to the beach to see if they'd reappear, but nothing.

It's 15h game time, maybe they only come out at night?

Any help would be appreciated

Did you kill the other mobs on that beach? They share spawns IIRC.

I hope you've already found your answer. But in case you haven't, if I remember correctly, they spawn to the Northwest of where they're marked on your map. So instead of being down by the beach, you have to run uphill out of that area, and a little to the West. You'll find the crabs there.

The other mobs there like the jellies and flytraps take the crabs spawns so u have to kill those for the crabs to spawn.

Thanks folks. I went out late last night, and it happened to be night time in the game (not sure if that matters) and there was 1 on the beach, so I killed him. That left 2. I did what some of you said and killed a few more of the critters around, and that might have helped, as one more showed up, and then another a short time later.

Was a bit concerned because there were so many that first time I went down there, but nothing the 2nd time, and only one at a time when I finally finished.

I never did try the NW trick, but thank you the same

@Archadius - and now, I have successfully eradicated them!

I reported it as a bug quite some time ago, thinking they must have moved the crabs in one of their monster location shuffles.
