    The Art of Behest

    The Art of Behest:-

1- Don't attack the yellow name target

2- Don't attack target with yellow name

3- NO, don't attack the target with yellow, white or what ever name color other than red

    4- Behest start every 30min ( --:00 and --:30 )

5- when NPC show up >>> click F11>>> enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter enter

    6- MAX vit and mnd

7- only attack target with red name

8- if you aggro >>>> as soon as the fight end attack the mob
( why? because 99% of time they will just ignore you and and next behest target
and that is soooo annoying as a healer but if his name become red = BUWAHAHAHA)

9- your rank ( don't go to nanawa mine with r19... believe me you will get alot more sp in r20 camp )

10- don't use shock spikes in full party
    ( unclaimed mob attack >>> lose hp >>> less sp T_T )
only use it when you need to survive behest with 1-2 people

11- if you didn't get invite >>>> please don't say Please Invite me without tab
    say <Behest> <Please Invite me>

    why?
1- <Behest> ( so people know that you are talking about behest )
2- <Please Invite me> ( so that even none english speaker can understand you )

( some time there is bug that will not show your flag so people will not know that you are in behest ) .

12- make sure to use this macro
    1-
    /join
    /wait 3
    / <hello> + <Nice to meet you>

    2-
    /p <Thank you> + See you again>
    /wait 2
    /pcmd leave

    3-
    /pcmd add <t>

    4-
    /p <Thank you>

why? because it's sooo annoying to try to search for my keyboard just to write that
    ( I play ffxiv <Behest> while playing ps3/xbox 360/reading
so most time I only have the joystick near me )

P.S: Spelling/grammar fest >>> <Do you need it?> yeah I'm not from US nether UK or Canada or even Australia

    1. Please make sure shock spikes is on at all times. Use punishing barbs when possible.

    2. Do not, under any circumstances, follow your party leader or his/her directions. Please ignore any "Attack this target!" enemy icons.

    3. In crowded behest areas, such as Nanawa Mines, DO NOT wait for someone to pull, please charge in headlong and aggro everything.

    4. Disciples of Magic use AoE only when nuking, especially if there are unclaimed targets in the area.

    5. Disciples of War should only have AoE weapon skills set.

    6. Remember, the faster all the targets are dead, the faster you win behest and can claim your reward money, so deviate from the party, please, and help out by fighting your own targets.

With the whole "don't attack yellow" thing, you're going to have to do that to actually claim a mob. You should probably add that someone needs to be designated First-attacker of the PT, ideally the party leader but whoever, just as long as you have one this will make things a lot more organised.

Also before attacking, the first-attacker should use the enemy marking system to point out to the PT which target to focus on initially, then finish off the already claimed group after. Also the party leader should prioritise mobs which aggro above passive ones.

I don't mind to tell people from cam r1 to 30 about that
but when i meet 2-3 people(everday) in camp r40 who from some reason love to attack behest mob with yellow name...I just feel like the world is ending >>>>.......<<<<<

Ideally a party that forms up for behest should only do behest once, then go make better use of their time elsewhere. In terms of sp per hour, it's grossly inferior to field camps of that level range. People who dink around solo, then party up in behest, then go back to dinking around solo are wasting their time.

Behest is ideally not a way to level. It is a way to meet people to level with, then to go do that in a superior fashion. It is best used as a hub to meet a pickup sp party, not a place to squat some sp at.

You join a behest with 4 players. You form up. You do the behest. You launch off to field sp. 4 more players join behest. They form up. They do the behest. They launch off to field sp.

As it is, it's just a way for a bunch of people to get mediocre sp at the expense of each other, depending on who'se the quickest fingers. Such a waste of time, really.

true, behest is alot slower to level up than sp party or leves
but you know.... what about people who don't know anyone near their rank?
( I hate to /sh for 30min/1hr only to end up with no one T__T
= so I might as well just stay there with my pride )
sigh...I miss search party from FFXI and auto dungeon finder

How to be a Behest Superstar

    1. A SUPERSTAR always shows up as late as possible...Many group leaders might say they hate that 3 min time limit to form a group, but they sure are glad you came with 30 sec to spare...it gets there blood pumping, and it makes them a better fighter in the battle ahead.

    2. If you see 14 other people running to attack a mob that is highlighted red, just go your own way, solo that white mob....Your a SUPERSTAR not a lemming who follows the pack.

    3. If people constantly spam in group chat "Please attack the red mobs only", just ignore them, I mean there is no way they can know more about the game than you right ? Your a SUPERSTAR, everyone should marvel at how you handled that Lowland billy goat on your own.

    4. If some people seem ADAMANT and try to educate you, saying things like, "Only red mobs give SP"....Just explain to them how you got 21 SP from the white mob. They might try to confuse you with text like this...but are they a SUPERSTARS?

*Group Kills Red mob = Full SP for everyone
*Single player Kills a white mob = No Sp on that mob for anyone
*If group kills red mob and single player has not killed his white mob, then that mob becomes the new red target = Reduced SP for Everyone about 60% loss

5.AOE is your friend!!! Make sure you try to agro extra mobs that are not part of the behest...MORE SP! They will LOVE YOU! I mean not only are you soloing behest mobs but taking on extra mobs to WOW! Sure all those extra mobs went running for the mages who are not SUPERSTARS and suddenly went to zero hp, sure the whole behest party is in total chaos looking for the red target.....But in the end, your making them all better players, improving there reflexes and what not...how are they ever going to reach SUPERSTAR status if they don't get stronger???....*They might try to confuse you again, but are they SUPERSTARS?

*When there is more than one mob that is highlighted red (Example 3 Bombs) ....You only need to target one of them to get SP for all of them....So you don't have to feel rushed to AOE this encounter to get credit for all 3.

*When your AOE hits white mobs (while red is highlighted), its almost the same as if someone was soloing a white mob. Your group is losing SP as the penalty for hitting a white mob is = to how much HP it lost when it was not highlighted red.....(Example-If you are fighting 3 bombs that are highlighted red and in range are another 2 elementals (That are white), and you blast Aoe to hit all 5, you lost some SP on the 2 elementals)

*Pressing F8 will target the closest mob to you, this is much faster than hitting Tab, which will cycle through players and mobs.

    6. A special note for ARCHERY SUPERSTARS....Make sure you stand all the way in the back and wait for that special moment when all the melee are about to pounce on the mob....THIS IS YOUR CHANCE! Show them how powerful your are by hitting the mob first and making it run across the field to get to you! Now all the melee in behest are going WOW that Archer is powerful! It's a good thing he is making us stronger with all of these Sprints back and forth.

    7. A special note for Gladiator and Pugalist SUPERSTARS when the ARCHERY SUPERSTAR does his powerful move (See above) stand on the other end of the field and provoke or taunt! Now the mob will ping pong between the archer and the tanks, this is a special mini game in behest that all players not of those class types LOVE!

Good guide, i knew everything on it, but hey i checked to see if i can use anything new, this is great for new players. Thank you for this because I"ll just link it to newbs instead of typing. Its okay if you're not from and English speaking country, none of us are that great at english anyway (I mean I try but its a forum, shit happens)

edit: I would like to add if you're a GLA and they asked you to pull for some reason (i've seen this so infuriating), don't use provoke, its awesome, but if its the initial attack on the mob, the next person to hit after you will get hate, this is only in low man situations, with 8 man party who cares.
