Bumpga IV. Fix this crap!
Bumpga IV. Fix this crap!
Consciousness creates reality.
For me, the game has been getting progressively worse. At first I didn't experience any problems, then every maintenance something new pops up.
Now I'm getting the occasional lag spike, that stupid negative queue when logging in, and also every once in a great while the game will crash when about to engage a crowded FATE (even with all effects turned off)
I'm having a similar issue, and have been sense about 3 days after official launch when I got the game. I can play perfectly fine on custom settings based off the High Desktop settings, without any lag or latency issues. However randomly, with no common event or place so far as I can tell, the game will crash.
Could be 5 mins after logging on, or 5 hrs. No error or anything, just a FFXIV has stopped working and windows is shutting down the program. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, and I've not had this issue running WoW when I played that. It does, much less often then FFXIV, happen on a rare occasion when playing a game in my Steam library. Any tips or advice, or fixes if someone else has found one, would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
I usually play in full screen, but have crashed with both min and max graph. settings, in windowed and full.

Same here about Fate grinding, so I'm not the only one. I've openned a new thread hoping to have some answers...
I had the same crashing problem every 10mins. I thought it was a software issue that is why I tried to reinstall the game. Now I can't even patch it back up and keeps saying I lost connection with the server. One problem after another. Sigh.
I recommend you to wait until SE do something... they'll surely do.
..throwing my hat into the 90k then 2002 error fun.. would be nice if SE actually fixed something instead of throwing a god damn band-aid on stuff and actually use some money and fix this issue. Stop being so damn cheap with the one component that you cant afford to be cheap on.
90k/2002 isn't an issue with your hardware or the end point server hardware, but with the networking side. You're dropping packets somewhere. Enough to force a disconnect (90k is in game and 2002 is the lobby). It's not Square that is the catalyst for the issue, but either your ISP, or the backbone you're traveling down to reach the Montreal data center...throwing my hat into the 90k then 2002 error fun.. would be nice if SE actually fixed something instead of throwing a god damn band-aid on stuff and actually use some money and fix this issue. Stop being so damn cheap with the one component that you cant afford to be cheap on.
To narrow down the problem, you will need to trace route your path to the server (links below) and post them here to be looked at. You won't be able to do much about it, but at least it will show that the issue isn't with you or Square:
Trace Route How To - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/162326
Your Servers IP Address - Sargatanas 199.91.189.33 http://www.arrstatus.com/
Backbone Status (yellow and red are bad) - http://www.internetpulse.net/
lol I know SE will not fix that (I mean give them some time, it's been only 2 months since the release, seriously)... just trying to cheer up others. For my part I'm fine, no disconnection issue just like 5% of Fate crashes.
