How did they make a 1-shot mechanic "less forgiving?"

In party I have 4.4k on my scholar and 4.3k on my whm. My Whm uses vanya and my scholar is in Allagan/AF2 still missing a few pieces. I know you should have 4.5k hp for t5 coil but with any other instance/dungeon I haven't seen/would say there is a recommended HP? Maybe Titan so you can eat plumes? I don't know. I have beaten titan on my smner with 3k hp. As long as you dodge does it matter? Not really. As a healer in Titan HM if you cant tank a plume and if you go down you are mostly screwed. If your party knows how/when to raise I have healed a good portion of the battle solo on my SCH and got the WHM up. Only person id recommend having over 5k hp for Titan is the tank.

Probably Lalafells have less HP and you spent all your attribute points in Mind/piety instead of leaving someone to vitality.

I think in a group I'm sitting at just under 3800 at this moment in time. Recently got into crafting though so I might look to swap some things around and learn more about materia.

Roughly 3790 here unbuffed (not logged in atm) Your HP is low because you invested your Mythology in accessories, which don't have VIT, or have very small amounts. Invest in a head/chest/legs and you'll see a huge jump in HP. Also, eat VIT food or respec VIT attributes, etc if you want to cheese your way around the 3.5k req. I can see why pugs require 3.5k HP req, but if you're good, you can get away with around 3.2k if your group has alot of DPS for titan.

I have Thyrus, Cleric's Robe, HQ Vanya Hat of Healing, DL hands, DL, waist, DL, legs, HQ Militia feet, Strategos Ring, and the rest of the accessories are just HQ Tourmaline with VIT materia. (Still working on my gear, not all there yet).
