    question about gil sellers

Why do they create new characters to get around the blacklist? I blacklist, and 10 min later the guy is back with the same first name and different last name. Whats the point? He just wasted 10 minutes at least creating a new character (remember he has to watch the cutscenes) in order to get out of my blacklist, but even after he is out Im just going to blacklist him again. Im never going to buy anything and he has to know that. So why does he continually make new characters just so he can whisper me and get blocked again?

If I was at work and screwed off for 10 min out of every 15 then Id be fired pretty quick. And even if its a program, its still a massively inefficient use of the time available. Economically, he should be focusing on the potential customers not the people that just want to tell him to screw himself.

For the same reason spammers send out a million emails advertising internet Viagra, if just one person out of 1000 acts on the advert, it makes it worth his time.

Every player is a potential customer, and I'm certain that a portion of the player base uses these services. Personally, I blacklist and report every stinking one of them I see. Be it in /shout, /yell or /tell.

Most of it is automated through bots, it's not really taking any of their time. Usually they're not making characters, though, they're just using hacked accounts.

problem with the excuse of hacked accounts: no real hacker will waste their time hacking game accounts for profit when a real hacker can clean out real bank accounts for the same effort.

if an account is in the hands of a gil seller there has to be a connection between the account and the gil sellers in gaming the most used way to steal accounts is through trojaned code like game bots with a trojan in them and as soon as he player executes the bot the trojan becomes active. some other ways are through unsafe sites but most firewalls and anti viruses are set up to identify attempted code injection from sites you would need to ignore the warnings or accept a questionable link or other item from the site.

there is more to it but the fact a gilseller has the account makes "I didn't do anything wrong" far harder to swallow excuse. because the connection had to happen somewhere.
