Emergency Install Issue please help!

My friend recently bought the game and he's having this issue with the install.



We tried updating his drivers, downloading on a different browser, restarting and redownloading, and closing all applications and then installing.

Not sure what the problem is and we would appreciate the help.

Unfortunately may be some corrupt registry issues, may have to repair/reinstall windows. Perhaps a program in the past didn't install cleanly but clearly the installer thinks that a previous program is not finished installing. Could maybe try installing in safe mode.

Just did a clean install with all of the .net framework, c++ and directx. No luck.

0x80070005 is generally access denied. Are you launching the install as administrator? Disable UAC.

Control Panel. > User accounts > Change user account control settings > Put the slide to the bottom and reboot

Tried disabling the UAC and rebooting + running it as admin. No go D:

Take Ownership of the directory path you are installing too..

And delete or rename C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\InstallShield

If above doesn't work. look for Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.

This kind of thing sometimes happens too when the download gets corrupted. If you can, try to download it again to a new folder. If you know someone who has it on their hard drive, can even try pulling it from their system via a flash drive or something. Think you can still get away with using the beta4 installer even, as it should download all the updates.

Yea I tried giving him the installer from my computer but apparently that didn't work either. We gave up in the end and just moved my program files over to his so he's just using it directly now.
