    R6025 = suspicious activity

    Apparently me getting disconnected due to R6025 crashes (and yes I have been on with tech support and they "Escalated" my ticket to a tech....) are triggering the suspicious activity program and I for one am extremely tired of having to make a new password every few login due to this. can you please put in a filter on the thing so it stops that and checks login IP and compares it with your registered location?

    it shouldn't be to hard to set it up to do a simple check of:
    login 3 in 5 minutes from IP 000.111.2.3 and the person who has this account is at IP 000.111.2.3 = safe

    I can understand a suspicious check if I live at the north pole and someone from Antarctica tries logging into my account, but when there is a issue affecting a large amount of players, you shouldn't be driving them away with a filter designed to protect against real threats......

    Get a keyfob. It removes the IP check.

    the problem isnt a keyfob (i have one), the problem is the R6025 virtual function call crash a lot of people are getting and is finally being admitted to (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-R6205-C-error) keeps crashing me and after a few times, my account gets locked due to my constant logging back in......

    I can confirm that OTP does not remove the IP check. I've been using one since before Beta 4 (had a FFXI account). I have two computers at home with two different internet IPs. I had to change my password recently due to "suspicious activity" caused by logging in with the other computer. I'm guessing that SE's system was apparently able to learn my location, because I've used the other computer since with no further issues.

    Edit: Please don't spread unverified information. It just increases confusion and stress for everyone involved.

    Friend played at work once then went home and he had to reset. Didn't have a keyfob.

    I have had the thing since it came out. Have never been forced to reset my password in all the locations I have played.
    That is not an official confirmation, it is just luck. If SE has not stated that OTP bypasses the IP check, and you continue to tell people that it does, you are indeed spreading unverified information. I suppose I should have asked that you refrain from spreading unofficial information. My case verifies that your idea of "verified" is incorrect anyhow. The point here is rumor control, please move to the positive side of it

    the matter is not the keyfob, the matter is this crash is causing me to have to reset my password to the game several times a day due to crashing and the logging back in.......

    Yeah I had the R6025 errors and never did I need to change my pass or have any issues, but getting booted once or more a day. Got booted, logged back in. It's been awhile since I've seen that error also maybe a few weeks or so.

    Since the patch the client has crashed with no errors about once a day so far. Hopefully you get your issue resolved soon.

    Having a authenticator does NOT stop the "Suspicious Activity" problem. I CTD about 10 times one night in about a 20min time span while messing with GPU clocks and testing stability. I was locked out of my account a few hours later. I have a authenticator, and my IP doesn't change. The system appears to pick up on multiple logins in a short time. It doesn't care about IP or if you have a authenticator. It's an absurd system, and is very flawed. But then again most of what SE has done shows little foresight, or proper testing.

    If you log in from multiple IP's and have a authenticator you shouldn't have problems. If you log in with different IP's and don't have a authenticator you *may* get the "Suspicious Activity" lockout. If you login multiple times in a short period from the same IP with or without an authenticator you will get a "Suspicious Activity" lockout. IP only seems to matter when login in normally from different locations without a authenticator.
