I know how to draw my own maps from oldschool Games like Bards Tale, used to do it, never really liked it and was happy when Games came up with their ingame made maps. In this Game, I use an Excel sheet to keep on track of things. I have teleports included (camps and teleports in towns that lead you to other maps) and I agree, it is not much of an hazzle to write this kind of info down or to look at the map before starting a teleport.

    but.....

But why on Earth do some people think it would be too much work for SE to change it and implement let's say 40 teleport points with meaningful descriptions in a few languages? Students can do that before they eat lunch. Or why do some insist that everything is just fine and people should just stop beeing lazy? Some people seem to want to sit on rusty thornes while they play and like to call it oldschool.

Some of the Games coming from Japan producers are disregarding a lot of NA/EU game standards that have established over the last years. Their games still feel like we are in the late 90ties in places as far as handling, menu structures and convenience are concerned.

I agree, the Game has much bigger problems than that which need to be adressed first and before anything else. But on a long term, I'd also like to see where I port to and not just by a camp name. So + 1 from my side and lol to all the Hardcore Defenders of the Inconvinience of the 90ties.

What's so wrong with having the teleport system (and the aethernet system in towns) function as a map rather than in list form?
I am a visual learner myself. It's a matter of turning text into an image and linking that image with the image of the scenery at that crystal. Or the location on the map *shrug*

    Because casual = lazy? Gotcha.

    "Take I-56 North"

rather than having to pull out a map, especially if it's in your area. I don't see how adding these to area names would actually take away anything from the player. I only see positives in adding such a feature, honestly.
    Even numbered interstates run east/west.

Well, grats on being able to do that easily. It's not so easy for my brain.

It's not like it'd hurt anyone to give a UI option of displaying aetheryte/athernet menus as maps rather than lists.

I have memorized all the ones that matter, Ceruleum Processing Plant = NT for 40-50 fate grinding, Quarymill for Hive in South Shroud for 20-30 fate grinding, Costa Del Sol for 30-35 fate grinding, FallGround Float for relic (or gridania and run that way), And Revenant's Toll, Dragonhead for 35-40 fate grinding. Camp Drybone for 15-20 fate grinding. Horizon for 10-15 Fate Grinding. And Uldah Steps of Nald to go home.

That's about all I ever need no matter what I'm doing.

Hrm... It seems some people have actually lost sight of why I even suggested this to begin with. Let me put it to you another way then. If there was something that you wanted to be implemented, but it helped me in virtually no way whatsoever, I would still support it. Why?

We're a community, that's why. You may want more hairstyles, more armour selections, additional skintones, whatever it may be... It would have absolutely no impact on how I enjoy the game. Much like this rather minor feature... It would have absolutely no impact on how you enjoy the game either.

It would simply be beneficial to those that would need such a thing for transport. As I said before, if you have it all logged into your brain like second nature, that's fantastic. I'm sure there are things I can do which you cannot, but ya know what? I don't hold it against you.

Please stop treating this as if it would be lazy or we're casual for wanting something like this. In case you haven't noticed... This game was "lazy and casual" waaaaaaaaaay before this thread was even created. If you had it your way, you would want to travel all over the world without a teleportation feature because you're hardcore.

Well, guess what... I've been playing games for 20+ years. I've had my fill of games like that and have accepted the fact that most games today are more user-friendly and give checkpoints/save points much more frequently because they realize not everyone has 3+ hours to invest in a game per day, just to reach their next destination. So if you want to go ahead and complain that this would make things lazy, maybe you should backtrack a little and remember how long it took you to reach level 50 (that's right, probably less than 3 weeks to a month, I imagine).

Adding something like this on top of what we already have certainly wouldn't hurt, so please quit treating this as if it would be a defining feature to separate the casual players from the hardcore players. Thanks.

If a game is going to be challenging, it should be challenging because the game content is challenging.

    Back to the thread:

Atm, most of the times I need to open the map and check what area I need to teleport.

If they added the name of the zone next to the place's names like for example this: "Quarramyll (East Shroud)", that would help a lot. However, that idea of a map where you can click your destiny, is how it should actually be though.

And why not? Users interfaces need to make life as easy as possible. After all we came here to play, not to learn, work, or struggle with a UI.

That's what you don't understand, the most simple feature DOES absolutely effect how I enjoy the game. I'll never understand how such a logical fallicy is used all the time as a crutch to a argument.
Making the game hold my hand at every step does effect how I play the game, people having those tools effects how they play the game and how they interact with me. This isn't a single player game where features can be ignored because everyone around me has access to them and unless I want to be at a disadvantage I have to make use of them as well. Instantanious teleportation as often as I want makes the overworld pretty much pointless why have it at all?

I can't enjoy the overworld because I have no reason to explore it and the developers have no reason to use it now that it can easilly be bypassed, seriously impacting how I experience the game.

So like I said in the previous post please don't talk down to me trying to brand me as "Hardcore" because I think the feature your suggesting isn't something I would enjoy. I haven't called you "Casual" because you have no time to play. What I don't understand is why you want the game to become easier just because you have no time. How does your timeline effect the fact you can experience the game regardless of how many hours you play.
