    Just Talk Folks!

C'mon guys, this isn't asking for much. When you use DF try communicating with your team every once in a while. If someone asks a question, respond, it's rude not to. If you have a problem with the way someone is playing, let them know (calmly) and see if maybe they just need a little guidance. Same for bosses, don't just assume everyone knows the mechanics. And realize that if you're running early dungeons (Satasha, etc.) you'll need some more patience as some players may be new to dungeons as a whole.

Also, to those who aren't being rude but rather shy... don't be intimidated, speak up if you have something to say. Pretty much 100% of the time your dungeon runs will go smoother in parties that actually communicate with one another.

I realize for the most part this thread won't change anyone's mind, but if it causes even a handful of people to not be so tightlipped in DF I'll feel like it did some good.

I always start with a hearty Hello as a greeting, ask if anyone is new to the instance, and usually emote throughout the dungeon for giggles. I'm a laid back type of guy so I don't prefer those mime runs either.

I'm the chatty type. I'll say hello and talk strategy and if I've done a dungeon before I'll give my two cents.

However, I don't think the biggest barrier to communication is shyness or rudeness. I think PS3 players need to buy a cheap keyboard and plug it in. Makes communication much easier!!!

Most people on the level 50 dungeons are more interested in Speedrun that communicating with ppl

Me personal if someone says hello I reply back
I also explain basic boss mechanics if I feel its needed or if someone seems new to the dungeon.

i do sometimes wonder how many people are on ps3/pc

i dont talk much when ps3 healing, by the time it takes to type a sentence in the tank has run off and aggro'd 4 mobs.

if someone asks me a question i have an actionbar set up with yes/no/beckon, a few places like sunken temple 2nd boss i'll do a quick /yes to the golems soulstone, which displays "Sheepy Sheepy nods to the Golem Soulstone", which is usually enough for people to decipher.

if there is a boss wipe for some reason, ill run back as fast as possible, make sure im the first there and then type out a very very brief explination to the person who caused the wipe, if the party doesnt run passed me and start the 15sec countdown that is.

Not everyone is like that. always some bad apples though, I also just say a (hello!) when getting into the dungeon, and if people need a explanation or to slow down pulling adds fast I will do that. Sorry that you have had a few bad experiences

I usually always say hello, even in speed runs where I tend to just be ignored :P

Want to talk? There are LS and FC and shout and you even could /tell random people. Dungeons... sometimes just too busy mashing buttons to reply "chatty" party members. Sometimes questions are way too complex to answer with a poor/insufficient knowledge of the spoken language.

I'm generally pretty chatty. Depending on the fight I'll make off comments while fighting but generally I'm quiet while fighting because I'm hitting all of the buttons! But between pulls? I yack, I joke, I babble on randomly and of course I greet the folks who join the group.

That said, I don't generally give up strats the first run through something, even if I've done it a million times. If someone asks for them I give them gladly, but if folks don't ask I don't bother telling because I personally have always preferred to figure the fight out instead of being told how it's going to happen on my first run.
