Yes it's way too short. It barely allows time to learn the actual instance, let alone for the group to deal with a sudden emergency or a disconnect. I have joined at least 10 groups in just the last few days that have been unable to finish the instance due to restrictive time limits. It's gotten so bad I'm going to have to stop clicking "join group already in progress" because it's almost always a lost cause due to the stupid time limit.

Why other players think this is fine or like it the way it is I have no idea. I really have a hard time understanding this new crowd that plays MMORPGs.

I'm not sure what your problem is. You really haven't given us much information other than you can't complete dungeons in time with Duty Finder groups, which are sometime in progress.

First, if you've never done a dungeon before don't press the join in progress button. I'm not sure if you do that or not but it's just common courtesy. If you find the join in progress feature annoying, don't use it. Start from the beginning with a fresh group.

Second, I would make some good friends whether that be people you play with in a dungeon/fate on your server or free company members. When you play with people you know, you will know how each others playstyle and things will go more smoothly. Your friends will not troll you to the point you can't complete a dungeon and they will be more than willing to give you good advice in dungeons.

If something is broken, you should try to fix it. Try to do things differently so that your dungeon runs are better.

I'm curious about what would happen if the time limit on instances was abolished and then thousands of trolls/RMTs/whatever sat for hours in their own instances and never get kicked out (cuz, you know, no time limit!). I imagine that eventually there would be no available instance slots for legitimate parties. Revisiting the AK "Reserving Instance" issue with every other instance in the game? Sounds fun.

I'm curious as to why you think there's some massive horde of trolls/RMTs/whatever lying in wait to pounce on instances the moment the timers are lifted. What weird world do you live in? Because this is not a thing that happens in other MMOs.

This is a problem with server infrastructure. You should be spending more time demanding SE use servers that can actually handle the loads the players put on them rather than defending timers.

Sorry, but no. This topic has been brought up 1000 times.

The time limits are hugely generous, not strict. You can wipe many times in a dungeon and still make the time limit. You can watch every cutscene in its entirety, take your time and still make the time limit. I have never even come close to hitting the time limit in any instanced dungeon in the history of the game.

The reason why the timers exist, which you seem to be oblivous to, is to ensure that avialable instances aren't taken up by people going AFK in dungeons.

Remember when you had to wait an hour for an AK instance? you'd have to wait even longer if there was no instance timer.

Aside from the fact it leaves very little room for mistakes and is punishing to newer players who are likely playing together for the first time. It also allows the occasional asshole to easily sabotage an entire run. Get rid of this or my time on this game may be limited.
Probably a lot of said samething to you....

Door is over there, no one will stop you.

Thanks for the offer XWX but it's not me personally having the problem. I've done the instance a lot. The problem comes when I use the Duty Finder and attempt it with strangers. That's how I like to level my character. I don't care much for fates and I like to reserve my leves for crafting and gathering. But the stupid time limit is starting to become a serious impediment to how I like to play.

I don't mind wiping a lot while people learn how to do an instance. That's ok. But when I'm unable to complete an instance due to some obnoxious time limit it starts to get old fast.

I could see them giving us an option to extend the run when the timer runs out, but not removing it.

If they removed it servers would crash from all the people afking at the end of a run and tieing up all the instances.

Threatening to leave the game because of instance timers?

    Well that's silly.
