Is it necessary to advertise "LGBTQ+ friendly"

To which the first example is

And I understand that they punish for off-game behavior. as well, so treating people like garbage outside of the game is punishable.

With all this being said, it almost seems redundant to advertise "LGBTQ+ friendly" in a game where you are required to tolerate it both on and off the game, seeing as how guilds that aren't friendly would be punished.

Is it redundant, or is it warranted even with the rules being as explicit as they are about a zero tolerance (on and off game) about it?

I've never been in a guild that wasn't "LGBTQ+" friendly. I do generally feel like the advertisement that a guild is, is redundant, as it is a given.

When you're part of a minority/marginalized group like that, it can be very intimidating to jump into a group of strangers that may or may not have disdain for fundamental parts of your identity.

If a simple flag like "LGBTQ+ friendly" can make someone feel more comfortable/welcomed, I'm all for it.

The idea was that it's accepting and you won't have any trouble fitting in there. Problem is, the more you advertise your FC as a good samaritan type of group, the more skeletons you got hiding back there.
It screams disingenuous which is honestly pretty unfortunate. People deserve a group where they can be their normal selves.
