Had AFs in 1.0. Old AFs were stored in armoire. Did job quests in ARR to 50 and got another set of AF. Now the new ones cant be stored nor discarded. Any ideas how to get rid of these ? So troublesome.

Currently the Armoire only accepts items based from 1.0. Hopefully soon they will fix this, I can't see it being intended to keep out all the new stuff.
The ARR AF stores just fine. The issue here looks to be that the OP had done the new job quests for a job already at 50. This resulted in a second set of the same AF that now cannot be stored since there's a set in their armoire already. AF also cannot be discarded so OP has a permanent armor inventory -5.
This is why you should take out your old AF before doing the new AF quests. After reading up on people having this issue I did this very thing and didn't get a single piece of AF from the new quests and the quests completed just fine.
WTF?! this bug has been around since day 1. SE said they were going to fix it by allowing us to put the af in the armoire which would have the effect of removing the duplicate item/s.
I'm having this issue as well. As another poster pointed out, I had my AF not on my person and redid the job quests, in turn giving me a second set of AF. One set is now just taking up inventory space and the other is sitting in the armoire. Hope SE fixes this I still have other jobs quests to redo. Yes, I'm aware if I just had my AF on my before doing the quests this wouldn't be a problem. This however is not a fix, this is a work around to something that is broken in the game.
Just my 2 Gil
Yup would really appreciate if SE fix this issue. Not a major one but it's irritating to see something in your inventory that you can't do anything about it.....
This happened to me with one of the swimsuits... I had to store the extra on my retainer because it wouldn't let me discard/sell the duplicate.
