I dunno I get hard freezes on my computer, only happens when playing ffxiv. It seems very random, sometimes within a couple of minutes of loading the game, generally I've got no problem running the game for hours. When it does happen it does not seem to matter where I am, although happily it's not happened to me whilst in a dungeon yet.

Generally the client freezes first then ~5 seconds later the computer freezes and I need to restart.

Am running on an i7-2600k, 8gb ram, gtx 460, 7200 rpm hdd desktop with win 7 installed, even after updating all my drivers I'm still experiencing the problem. I'm going to be looking around for the crash logs, so will be keeping an eye on this thread.

I had similar issues just before my Radeon HD 5670s died (one right after the other). I'd guess your GTX 460 is on the way out. If you have a friend with a newer graphics card and would allow you use for a few hours (assuming your PSU is compatabile with the GPU), you could test out this theory. You could also test your RAM sticks by rotating some of the sticks out each time you crash until you've isolated the stick(s) that may be bad.
