Just because it's a hot topic in the technical support area at the moment, doesn't automatically mean a high proportion of the players are affected, it just means there are relatively few other problems.
Actually if you look at the throttling thread (which is likely the first stop most people with this problem make on the forum) you will see that it is reaching into the thousands. Also, I am not the one claiming thousands are/are not having problems, that's all you. Again, I said based on the number of posts on this forum there is a large portion (not proportion, they are different words with different meanings) experiencing difficulties. How many people do you think post on this forum? I would say 10,000 is a rather large overestimate of posters on the English forum. Compare that to the 1400+ posting in other threads and you end up with an underestimated 14% of posters experiencing problems. If the forum is representative of the true player base (like I said before, it's unlikely) that's 14% of the player base experiencing the problem. That is not an insignificant amount. (See I can do bad stats as well.)

Yes, it's the most widely talked about issue, and not only here but on other forums as well, which is why SE need to acknowledge the issue and try to resolve it to both keep the current player base happy and decrease the amounts of negative publicity they're receiving about it.
