    Job Recommendation for PS3/PS4

I'd like to start off by saying I've played since Beta Phase 3 on my PC and have had a great experience with the game. I have played each Job/Class enough to understand how they work and whatnot. That said, I have a PS4 on preorder and would like to start playing the game on there instead. My PC is plenty capable and more powerful than the PS4; but it doesn't offer me the luxury of lounging on my couch or playing on my larger-than-my-monitor TV screen.

Having not played this game on console yet I'm just curious if anyone has any suggestions or input to which jobs seem to be most playable, or, flow best on console. Tank, DPS, Healer, I really don't care. I just want to be able to play whichever class would be most enjoyable with minimal obstacles on the console. I don't want to be a "burden" to fellow raiders due to playing on a PS4 and want to be as effective and efficient as possible whatever the role may be.

    Any feedback is much appreciated!

I play with a Logitech PS3 imitation controller on my PC and I love it. Yes I believe it will never be as efficient as using a keyboard/mouse but it's great for the reasons that you mention. My suggestion would be to go out to a best buy pick up one of these controllers for $20 and try it out for yourself. That way you can become acclimated with the playstyle in advance and figure out what you like best.

Also... I have an HDMI cable for my laptop so when I feel like being on my couch I can just plug that into my 50 inch tv and play from the comfort of my couch even without a PS4.

I play on the ps3 and main BLM - I am not having any issues and am enjoying it quite a bit. I will be getting ps4 as well and playing it on there when the time comes, but for now this is working out great!

@Vindrax - That's a good suggestion. In regards to the HDMI, it personally would be too much of a hassle to lug my PC tower up and down the stairs all the time to go from my den to the living room.

Do you feel certain classes are easier to play than others with your PS3 imitation controller?

I have been playing mostly PLD in 2.0, but I have also DPS'ed and healed a number of dungoens also on arcanist. Everything is doable, but granted I've been taking my time so I have not tried endgame hardmodes yet (still finishing level 46+ of the story). I honestly believe you shouldn't have any problem with the class you select, the controls really do work quite well. Healing is probably easiest since the targeting can be done with the up/down arrows automatically without interference. The most difficult thing is typically enemy targeting. It's not that bad, but at times specifically for FATEs trying to target something in a mass of people can be difficult. In dungeons this is less of an issue, but when there are lots of enemy's/players on the screen it can be difficult at times.

Honestly the logitech controller I have has been a great investment and I use it even when I'm not playing on my TV. It's also great for emulators if you play and old Nintendo/SNES games on your computer too. Not sure when PS4 is supposed to be released, but if you want a preview go Logitech! I forget the exact model I have, but it has all the same buttons a PS3 controller does.

Well then that's not a long wait... pretty exciting. I'll be interested to see how the game looks/runs on PS4 even though I can't justify spending the money to buy one right now.

I've been playing on PS3 and have no issues with any jobs. Tank is my main, but its just as easy to Heal or DPS on he controller. Though I do have a usb keyboard plugged in for typing, that's all I use it for.

The FFXIV version for PS4 isn't supposed to be released until beginning of 2014 though.

Oh that's really unfortunate. Well I will be making the switch once it's available. Just trying to prepare for the transition.
