FFXIV on Facebook and Iphone? Seriously, why not!

YES an app for shopping would be nice let me do my AH business on the go and when I get home I can just play the game instead with my bought gear ready in my inventory!

I can see this happening, it doesn't take a fool to realize that the future of technology is in the mobile phone/smart phone sector. Try and watch a T.V commercial break that doesn't have a cell phone advertisement. For that matter try and watch a commercial period without it having some sort of "join us on facebook" message.

After watching The Social Network, I don't know why SE would not want to leverage that vehicle and/or mobile phones. I recall reading an article in Forbes about Zynga - the guys who made Farmville. Well there are 4 billionaires related to Zynga. BILLIONAIRS. Looks at Angry Birds. That creator has made a BILLION dollars as well.

Square Enix is already heavy into the app store for Apple. they just released FF3 in HD on the iPad and is charging $15 dollars a pop for it. They have 3-4 other titles out there as well. They could develop an app with several of the features listed above and charge 5-10 dollars for it, and I'm pretty sure every FFXIV gamer would buy it.

It's easy money really and i wouldn't even be surprised if they are already working on it and they just didn't announce it yet. You make excellent arguments btw

I read one of SE stockholder meeting and they was talking about making things more for phones and PSP which that was 2years ago and guess what? shit load of thing coming out for phones and psp from SE sense i read that,. so for sure they would do more they even have two facebook games right now so i see that coming.

I wonder why did they make a card game like ffxi on Facebook tho

If someone took the time to make a custom app for that then i guess it's a good sign that SE should do it.

One is crap and one isn't. Kidding, I just like Triple Triad more and here's why,

The key difference is that the rules of Triple Triad would change depending on where and how you played, and they were pretty interesting ways to play the game, like the same, plus, wall, or elemental rules. These rules would in turn make you think differently about which cards you'd use to make effective use of the board. Tetra Master was static throughout the entirety of the game. Same rules the whole way through.

Triple Triad was also much easier to understand, since there are just 4 numbers for each side of the card (1-A) that determined how good the card was, and so the game felt more like playing a regular card game like briscas(spanish card game), whereas Tetra master had a weird system of 4 numbers and letters that while not bad, was sort of complicated and made the game feel a bit more like a TCG, which may have turned off some people.

Also, Triple Triad was integrated into the main world of FFVIII in the form of item synthesis and story sidequests. Tetra Master did none of this.

Basically, if we're trying to make FFXIV more accesible, then we want something simple yet complex like Triple Triad.

I suppose I'd be more supporting of Tetra Master if they added the level of rule variability and world integration that they did for Triple Triad back in FFVIII.
