Which crafting class should I level next? 2 star HQ crafting experts advice needed

Hi, so far I have these skills:

All level 15 cross class skills
    Steady Hand II
    Careful synthesis II
    Waste not II

That is the order of how I got them. Even with just weaver and carpenter at lvl 50, I was still able to HQ vanya gear. I just recently finished leatherworker and am planning on crafting some Hyppogriph gear soon.

I was thinking either GoldSmith's Innovation (for that great strides, innovation, Blessing combo), or Comfort zone because its so useful for the first step.

Before LeatherWorker and Waste Not II, I was able to HQ vanya silk maybe 30-40% of the time. I have not tried with waste not II yet. Even though I can HQ final vanya gear NP even with NQ silk, I was still hoping to ultimately make it so I can HQ 40 dur 2 star mats 80% + of time. This is the kind of synthesis I am looking for.

What is the next best lvl 50 skill / crafting class I should level next that will benefit or give me the most progress in ensuring 2 star HQ's?

    Thanks for any advice.

I think if your goal is specific to two stars, Ingenuity II from Blacksmith seems to be one way to tackle this.

I don't think you're going to accomplish your goal with just one more craft. Ingenuity II is huge though. The * rating simply is an artificial level increaser on the item you're making as best I can tell and the Ingenuity abilities damn near negate this entirely. Combining Ingenuity II with Comfort Zone to offset the cost of maintaining Ingenuity II is probably the best way to go about it w/o needing to rely on "Good" procs.

If your goal is to get high HQ% on 2 Star 40 Durability Craft, here's my recommended skill rotation..

    "Comfort Zone"
    "Inner Quiet"
    "Steady Hand II"
    "Waste Not"
    "Hasty Touch"
    "Hasty Touch"
    "Hasty Touch"
    "Hasty Touch"
    "Manipulation"
    "Steady Hand II"
    "Waste Not"
    "Hasty Touch"
    "Hasty Touch"
    "Hasty Touch"
    "Hasty Touch"
    "Steady Hand"
    "Great Strides"
    "Innovation"
    "Ingenuity"
    "Byregot's Blessing"
    "Careful Synthesis II"
    "Careful Synthesis II"

    Required 374 CP..

So basically, an Alchemy and a Goldsmith is the best next crafting class to level.

Um, unless I'm missing something, he doesn't have Byregot's Blessing which requires a 50 Carpenter. Byregot's Blessing is the backbone of everything. I mean basically all you're doing is just build enough stacks of IQ so that a Great Strides on Byregot can finish the job when dealing with 1/2 stars.

That's what he said, maybe he forgot to include Byregote's Blessing on his list.

You clearly want to get BSM, GSM and CPT up for Ingenuity II, Innovation and Byregot's Blessing.
These 3 skills make HQing high level items much easier.
ALC for Comfort Zone is very nice too.

wouldn't it make sense to use comfort zone a second time?

Since Comfort Zone requires a large amount of CPs up front, it means for the first 8 turns after Comfort Zone you've less (sometimes a lot less) CP. I didn't work out the exact CP for every step but I imagine if an excellent showed up immediately after the second Waste Not, had you used a second Comfort Zone by then, you might not have enough to use Byregot's Blessing at all due to the upfront cost of Comfort Zone depending on how much CP you have. Since a Byregot on an Excellent will nearly certain do 100% HQ, there's no need to take this risk.

GSM is nice for materia melding your own items and some usefulness out of innovation.

Key abilities at level 50 are --- SHII 37 cul, Careful Synth II, Byregot's Blessing, if you have those in your arsenal plus all cross class abilities (Edit: Lvl 15 cross class abilities) you don't need anything else besides fully melded crafting gear. I find around 360craft/350 control is a very comfortable number for HQ2*100% on even 40/40 synths.

I have never found Ingenuity I to be inadequate for quality or progress. Remember, Ingenuity II does not affect quality. At the end of your hasty touch gambit you will be popping an optimal SHII + GS + Innovation + Ingenuity + Byregot's blessing depending on condition, then finish with careful synth or if you still have SH stack and CP then Standard Synth.

I find WVR, LTW, and ARM to be the most popular in terms of getting commissions for HQ2s
