    Turn 2 ADS Glitched?

Turn 2 has been behaving weird for us.

Our attempt on Tuesday, our Paladin was at full health and just fell over dead. I went through the chat log and I saw things of normal "receives 1000 dmg, receives 1450 dmg, receives BIG Heal" and then he's at full health taking no dmg because the off tank had the boss. Then the chat log shows the pld died and took do dmg between the heal and the time of death and there is no dmg received by the paladin in the log period. It's not an overlap lag on the heals either, the paladin, at no point in the fight, was low enough to die from any of the received dmg, he just died instantly for no apparent reason.

Tonight we had serious issues with hate. Paladin had sword oath up, warrior was in defiance. Two brd's were silencing the high voltage. What would basically happen is the warrior would pick up the ADS, no dps on the boss at all until 10 seconds in or so and the paladin would provoke at 3 stacks. The paladin would get into savage blade/havalone etc and the boss would be lost and go straight for one of two brds.

Doing some experiementing after the encounter in toll we noticed that silence pulls more hate than flash so we plan on having the paladin silence the first high voltage for the next run, but we found this odd, that one silence would pull the boss when both tanks have been on it. The brd even said they had used 0 shots up to that point and a single silence pulled him.

Probably just a couple of nights of things just gone horribly wrong. It happens to everyone. You may be looking too much into it or trying to find an excuse for something. Whenever it happens to me, I'll call it as it is.

    I just played horribly.

The tank dieing randomly for no reason is unexplained. When something is wrong I want to know why so I can fix it. So I was posting to see if anyone had ever noticed anything similarly.

My first suggestion was going to be that he died to Rot, although it seems you have been doing this enough to understand the basic mechanics of the fight. I will say that using heals and taking damage is a LITTLE bit delayed. If you actually compare in the log, it will SAY you healed before the person died, but they will still die if they took damage because the server registers the heal as going off AFTER. It's all about the information you receive. My best guess is that the server hiccuped, the tank took a few HARD hits before anyone could see it, and the healers couldn't get the tank up in time. Also, back luck can happen... his cooldowns might be down, or maybe he got hit by something he shouldn't have. Mistakes happen.

As far as the ADS going straight for the bards... Hate is a little tricky when rotating between two tanks because of how threat works in this game. The second one tank provokes to take over at three stacks, hate is extremely vulnerable. Provoke gives the tank the #1 position in threat, but only for a brief moment. After that, the tank has to work to keep threat. I see bards accidentally pull hate a LOT at this stage because bards are constantly using abilities, even on the move. It's easy for a bard to 'sneak in' a few attacks while the second tank is struggling to solidify hate. When I know tanks are switching, I won't fester (that's my SMN burst) because I don't want to pull threat at that moment. I do tend to ride the #3 position very closely, though.

Coil is notoriously laggy... I'm talking about so laggy that sometimes you won't be able to dodge beams unless you wait for it and preemtively move. I really wish they would stabilize these servers. There's nothing you can do about latency and ping, but there is a lot you can do about making sure the servers themselves aren't struggling like crazy. Monday nights in particular are a REALLY bad time to run Coil unless everyone knows exactly when to move (anticipating it).
