I can already see it... Bunch of noobs breaking my immersion by repetitively jumping around. Wouldn't be as bad as those guys who keep taking out and putting away their mog weaps.
On a serious note, the jumping in tera is completely lamesauce.

I liked the height of it, it felt very fantasy-esque.You've seen the video from the live letter showing what they had worked on for a jump animation so far right? What did you think of that? Yoshi himself said the height was a little extreme. I agree with him there, but I was actually really impressed with the motions of the characters especially the landing. It was also impressive to see the jumping while running was well done. I know that was merely an early stage test, but it still looked good to me, albeit a little high.
I've always been very impressed with all of the motions in the game so far, I've yet to see an emote or an attack that I can say is unrealistic or impossible. For me it's one of FFXIV's greatest accomplishments in the game so far.
I hope it still will be a decent height on the final feature. ;D
Good thing we don't have the same development team then.
LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)

I've never understood this notion people keep bringing up that others jumping repeatedly ruins their immersion. In what way does it? Is it because it's unrealistic that someone stands in 1 spot jumping constantly? Or is it that it's just annoying to you? In any case a character's actions should reflect the player controlling them; by this logic we could say that someone who constantly jumps should be considered annoying, have a short attention span, and should simply be ignored. Someone who hits the space bar constantly either has a very low attention span or is bored. Alternatively, perhaps a roleplayer is preparing for the day by doing their morning jumping exercises? God knows how those people think.
Rather than talking about immersion garbage, just say that you lack enough patience to see someone jump more than twice in 10 seconds without becoming extremely aggravated to the point that you'll post on a forum in protest of a not only fun, but necessary game feature. Someone with common sense would likely tell you to either; a) rotate your camera away from them, b) move your character away from them, or c) just deal with it. You could even be civil about it and send them a tell asking them to stop! Then if you're lucky they'll develop an undying love for you and follow you around everywhere jumping (I know I would).
Stop being babies, noone to date has come up with a legitimate reason to not implement jump into this game (News flash! There is none).

The first half of that post was for trololol (my apologies) . Cmon the reasoning behind it is completely ridiculous, I'm for jumping. And your rant was awesome.I've never understood this notion people keep bringing up that others jumping repeatedly ruins their immersion. In what way does it?
