    We know it looks like spaghetti. The game was coded badly, which is why lots of bugs and changes are taking so long to implement.

    Do I have to? Can I point to some of the many MMOs which regardless of their commercial success are very solid on the technical side instead?

    Hard to say this unless you've seen the code yourself. The only problem XIV suffers from technical wise is the server side nature of the interface. Every other MMO chose against using one for obvious reasons.

    I couldn't find it if I tried, but I'm sure a lot of the dev posts and reasons things have not been implemented (seemingly simple themes) have been because it's hard to code in the game, such as all these targetting changes taking so long, the battle system, etc.

    The state it was released in, and how long it has taken to implement (what should be) menial fixes should give you a good picture of the technical quality of the game.

    As soon as I have 15 years of experience with video game coding, a project already coded on a new platform, 5 years, a huge budget, esteem, and degrees...I'll get back to you. But before that, sorry but a game with this large a budget with this much of a star-cast should not have been coded as badly as it is.
