    If you seriously are having that much trouble navigating the world without a jump button, then I have to really wonder what the heck it is you're doing when playing. I've played the game and been in all but one zone... at no time was I unable to get where I needed to without having a jump button. I see a wall or a ledge that looks too high to get over, I alter my course to get around it. Problem solved.

    On a comical note: I keep getting this image of you angrily running face first into every cliff or boulder you encounter screaming "JUMP!!!! WHY CAN'T I JUMP?!?! JUMP DAMN YOU!!!"

    Perhaps you should go play some Tomb Raider and hop all over the place to your heart's content? You know... get it out of your system?

    It's very easy to see where you can and can't go well before you get there while running around. The mini-map gives you a good representation of where passable spots are as well as impassible ones. There's no reason why those ledges should be a nuisance... unless you're not paying attention to where you're going.

    I've never had trouble navigating any of the areas in XIV. There's really no trick or secret to it. Simply pay attention to the land and navigate accordingly.

    "Well I want to go forward, but I see a rather tall cliff coming up that I may not be able to get over. However, off to my left I see a grass hill that will take me up there. Okay, so I'll simply veer to the left, go up the hill and be done with it."

    Easy as pie.

    It's not just for traveling

    in example, The Necrologos: Ranine Riveries, Dunsfolks Dinner

    you can kill mobs on the upper zone near the camp then you can immediately jump off the cliff to the lower zone for another mobs

    Jumping has many thing to do in FFXIV maps

    Who in their right minds thinks these boring leves are such great gameplay scenarios that their existence should prevent the inclusion of new features?

    Especially Necrologos are so boring I can't understand why they'd even want to keep those leves in the game.
    That's like saying we can't improve controls because the game has badly designed content.

    Leves aren't worth it to sacrifice jump feature.

    The cliff in the part 2 video is far too high for your character to jump up anyways (shouldn't even be able to run up it.) Could jump off it, but I would think you'd hurt yourself.
