    It's very easy to see where you can and can't go well before you get there while running around. The mini-map gives you a good representation of where passable spots are as well as impassible ones. There's no reason why those ledges should be a nuisance... unless you're not paying attention to where you're going.

    I've never had trouble navigating any of the areas in XIV. There's really no trick or secret to it. Simply pay attention to the land and navigate accordingly.

    "Well I want to go forward, but I see a rather tall cliff coming up that I may not be able to get over. However, off to my left I see a grass hill that will take me up there. Okay, so I'll simply veer to the left, go up the hill and be done with it."

    Easy as pie.
